ALEX EALA’S WIMBLEDON RUN CONTINUES

BREAKING: Alex Eala avenged last year’s loss to Maya Joint, defeating the Australian in three sets to reach the third round of Wimbledon.

On Thursday evening (Manila time), Eala was held in a similar position, losing the first set and forcing a third set. But this time around, the Filipina dug deep and completed the job, outlasting her Australian opponent, 3-6, 6-2, 6-0, in the second round of the tournament.

🥒 KITCHEN WARS – GROUND RULES

🟢 Kitchen Only – All shots must land inside the Non-Volley Zone (Kitchen).
🟢 Bounce Required – Every ball must bounce inside the kitchen before being returned.
🟢 Dinks Only – Every return must be a controlled dink intended to land in the kitchen.
🚫 No Volleys – Hitting the ball before it bounces is a fault.
🚫 No Smashes – Overhead smashes and put-away shots are prohibited.
🚫 No Speed-Ups – Fast drives or attacking shots are not allowed.
🚫 No ATPs or Ernes – Around-the-post shots and Erne shots are not permitted.
🚫 No Body Shots – Intentionally targeting an opponent with a hard shot is prohibited.
❌ Any ball landing outside the kitchen is OUT.
📖 Official Pickleball rules apply unless modified by the Kitchen Wars rules.

⚠️ Instant Faults
- Ball lands outside the kitchen.
- Volleying the ball.
- Smashing or speeding up the ball.
- ATP or Erne attempt.
- Double hit or double bounce.
- Any shot that violates the dink-only format.

The Top 2 teams from each bracket advance to the Knockout Stage.
