From Coach to Official. Not even a day after landing from Egypt I flew to Region VIII Eastern Visayas to conduct a fast track Technical Official Seminar and Run the last Regional meet to qualify for the Palarong Pambansa.

Although very exhausting, when I saw the kids, their passion & respect they show their coaches, the hunger to qualify for Palaro Pambansa Department of Education national Games), it reminded me of when we first started the HDWLA 3 years ago, and how our kids were so driven. Doing every rep, every set to get strong everyday and to achieve their dreams.

It was heartwarming to also see these technical officials with Zero knowledge perform give their best to conduct a successful competition.

Grateful to the Regional Sports Office Of Region VIII, for their trust in me to conduct and run the seminar & completion. Thankful for coach Rocky of Ormoc for providing the equipment for the training area and Mayor Tacoy of the municipality of Matag-ob for providing equipment for the competition. I also can’t forget the team for their amazing CMS to provide and smooth and high standard competition for the regionals games.

“Perspective determines how challenging your struggles in life feel.”

When our Tour guide asked me to take a photo with the pyramids, I was initially reluctant. Mostly because I prefer to be behind the camera as a filmmaker. Then the thought hit me after seeing these photos about how my athletes can often see their struggles in life and training be bigger than they really are.

Although the reality is certain, a better perspective makes a greater impact than we really think.

When we see the pyramids, we know how great of a civilization the ancient Egyptians were. But from the perspective of the photo, you can deduce that despite being thought of as one of the greatest wonders of the world, we reduce it to just a small figure from my perspective.

As a coach, I know the potential of my athletes, but in most cases they can’t see just how great they CAN BE. This is important because perspective matters if you have big dreams and Goals.

leading up to this comp went to a very difficult time in his life but with constant assurance and empowerment from his Coaches, he was able to determine the weight of his struggle by shifting his perspective.

“For PaPa” was his self talk, and he was there to help lift up the world record.

At just 19, Albert Ian Delos Santos isn’t just making world records – he’s rewriting them.

At the 2026 IWF World Junior Championships in Ismailia, Egypt, he delivered his latest statement with a commanding 187kg lift in the Men’s 71kg Clean and Jerk, breaking his own junior world record once again and winning his third world title.

In the same competition held in Forde, Norway in October last year, Albert Ian first barged in the global record column with a 185kg lift. Two months later, during the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Thailand, he pushed further by lifting 186kg to claim silver and reset his own record.

did his best and put up numbers close to his best numbers in the 65kg B session going 125/150/275.

Peaking for this comp was challenging with a short preparation, but despite the short preparation, mango put up decent numbers to gaining necessary experience for his athletic growth. Still a lot of potential for mango and back to the drawing board.
