Municipality of Jagna ⚠️

We have obtained official copy of Municipal Ordinance No. PSO 02-12-2017 An Ordinance Revising Jagna Code of Public Safety, Security and Order of 2017, specifically Section 108.

Note:

There is no clear indication of a required decibel reading in Municipal Ordinance No. PSO 02-12-2017, the LTO Memorandum Circular 2020-2240 (commonly known as the LTO “muffler law”) specifies that exhaust systems must not exceed 99 dB when tested at 2,000–2,500 rpm. The decibel meter should be positioned 0.5 m behind the exhaust, at a 45-degree angle during testing. The reading is not mentioned because 2017 pa ang ordinance .

The ordinance states that modification or alteration is prohibited, but it does not clearly define what falls under this rule. Full aftermarket exhaust systems may be acceptable, provided they comply with the LTO decibel limit, but this remains unclear due to the vague wording of the 2017 ordinance.

This ordinance is outdated and lacks specific standards. Much has changed after the pandemic, and policies must evolve along with current practices, technology, and tourism activity.

Additional Note:
Mayana, Jagna is now a popular tourist destination for motorcycle enthusiasts. If this ordinance is to be amended, the rules must be well-balanced protecting community peace while still supporting tourism. For example, certain mufflers could be allowed as long as they meet the decibel limit, with restrictions on revving or using loud exhausts during specific hours of the day.

This is our concern. Since we are now involve in other area of the sport "motorcycling". I hope this helps to anyone who have doubts and questions. Peace and love 💕.

Our ocean deserves better. 💔 Beautiful Jagna is home to rare corals and marine life which is being threatened by illegal "bubu traps" inside our protected waters. Let’s speak up and protect what’s ours before it’s too late. 🌊🐠
