A Gentle Reminder to All Parents and Guardians
At Swimming Lessons, we work with children of all ages and abilities โ and one thing weโve learned is that every child is unique. Some take to the water naturally, quickly picking up new skills. Others may need more time, encouragement, and repetition before they feel confident. This is completely normal โ and something we respect and embrace.
We kindly ask that you refrain from scolding or criticizing your child in public, especially during or after swim lessons. Public criticism can impact a childโs self-esteem, create anxiety, and may even lead to a fear of returning to class โ which is the opposite of what we all want.
Just as importantly, please do not compare your child to others. Every child progresses at their own pace, and comparing them can discourage rather than motivate. Celebrate their individual journey โ no matter how fast or slow it may seem.
Please remember:
๐ Some children float on day one. Others need several weeks.
๐ Some are fearless. Others need gentle reassurance.
๐ All children thrive with patience, encouragement, and love.
Progress may be slow โ but it is still progress. What matters most is that your child feels safe, supported, and believed in. With time and a positive mindset, they will learn โ and theyโll enjoy the process so much more.
Letโs continue to work together to create a nurturing, uplifting environment where every child can grow in skill and confidence โ both in the pool and in themselves.
Thank you for your support.
