The Central Philippine University (CPU) Dancesport Team snatched 6 gold medals in the National PRISAA Games 2025 held at Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, last April 3-11.
Kealynn Therese Castigador and Ruel Cyann Paclibar placed first in the Youth Modern Standard category, securing gold medals in the Single Dance events: Slow Waltz, Tango, Grade A, Viennese Waltz, Foxtrot, and Quickstep.
βConsidering the influences affecting our ability to balance our time with our studies, work, and appropriate health, training is challenging,β said Paclibar.
Coach January Love A. Desamero expressed her pride in the duoβs performance, saying that they 'earned' every bit of the victory by getting past and above every challenge.
βAs a coach, there's nothing more rewarding than watching your athletes grow, fight for their dreams, and succeed. Seeing their hardwork, dedication, and passion finally pay off on the national competition at Tuguegarao City Sports Complex Colliseum, they proved that with perseverance and unity, greatness can be achieved. They've truly made me proud,β she added.
Castigador acknowledged the support received from her coach, teammates, and delegates from Region 6, and expressed appreciation for the outcome of their efforts.
βAfter all of this, I've seen that God truly is amazing, He has blessed us with all of these and took off the heavy burden we've been carryingβme and my partner would like to say, and with a heart filled with gratitude, thank you all for the love and support that you have given us,β she detailed.
