With the theme “VisMin” and the motion “THBT the 'Land of Promise' settlement project has done more harm than good,” the debaters argued about something that is very close to home. Defending their cases with every argument and a piece of their heart.

| Round 5 Round-up

Round 5 has concluded, setting the stage for the outrounds. After five grueling preliminary rounds, the final 16 Open Teams and 4 High School Teams have secured their break and will carry the banners of their institutions into the next stage of the 17th Visayas-Mindanao Debate Championships.

With the theme “BARMM” and the motion, “This House Believes That the BARMM government should actively redefine the Bangsamoro identity beyond its revolutionary roots,” debaters wrestled with questions of identity, governance, and self-determination, weighing whether the Bangsamoro project is better served by preserving its revolutionary foundations or forging a broader identity.

The stakes have never been higher. As the outrounds begin, only one question remains: who will rise above the rest?
