Unlike Men’s Physique, Open Bodybuilding places greater emphasis on complete muscular development, size, density and conditioning.

The athlete should present a highly developed physique while maintaining an aesthetic and proportionate appearance. The objective is not simply maximum size. Judges will consider the complete package of muscularity, shape, symmetry, proportion, conditioning and presentation.

• The athlete must not have won a championship in any amateur or novice physique competition.
• The athlete must not have placed Top 5 in any higher-level physique or bodybuilding category.
• Athletes who have placed Top 5 in Open Physique, Open Bodybuilding, or similar higher-level categories are not eligible.
• An athlete who has competed previously but has not won an amateur or novice physique category may still qualify, provided the athlete has not achieved a Top 5 placement in a higher-level category.
• This division is intended for athletes who are developing their physique and competitive experience but have not yet established themselves as winners or top competitors at higher levels.
• The organizers reserve the right to review an athlete’s previous competition history and determine eligibility.

• Good overall symmetry and proportion
• Noticeable muscular development
• Broad shoulders and a strong V-taper
• A relatively narrow waist
• Well-developed chest, shoulders, back and arms
• Balanced overall development

• Confident posing and stage presentation

The emphasis is on developing an impressive, muscular, and aesthetic physique rather than simply having the greatest amount of muscle.
