Veejay Pre made a notable debut for the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons in the 2025 Pinoyliga Collegiate Cup, leading the team to a commanding 91–76 victory over NCAA champion Mapua University. In just 22 minutes of play, Pre contributed 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting and secured five rebounds. This game marked his first appearance since transferring from Far Eastern University (FEU), where he had previously earned the UAAP Season 87 Rookie of the Year award .

Pre is part of UP's "second team," as the Fighting Maroons have fielded two separate squads for the tournament. Despite this, he played a significant role in the team's success. His teammate, Noy Remogat, led the scoring with 17 points, while Francis Nnoruka, Miguel Yniguez, and Jacob Bayla each added 12 points .

Although Pre will sit out UAAP Season 88 due to residency requirements, he is expected to be a key contributor for UP in Season 89 .
