As a running community created to celebrate and empower women, this cause is close to our hearts. We’re honored to stand alongside every woman whose journey has required courage, strength, and hope.

EmpowHER Half Marathon is only supporting and promoting this event. We do not handle, collect, process, or receive registrations or registration fees. For registration, payment, and event concerns, please contact the Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation, Inc. directly through their official page.

Still not over this bling!

It’s more than just a piece of metal. It’s the months of training, the days I didn't want to get out of bed, and the final stretch where the crowd carried me home.

The EmpowHer Half Marathon medal represents pure grit, determination, and a whole lot of girl power.

Today is a day to celebrate our history, our culture, and our hard-won freedom. At GWAVE, we believe that the beautiful gift of independence is best celebrated when every Filipino can live safely, confidently, and fearlessly in their own communities.

Let's wave our flags with pride today and continue working towards a brighter, violence-free future for everyone. Sama-sama tayong patuloy na magtulungan para sa isang ligtas, malaya, at payapang Pilipinas.

We just looked back at the official registration stats from our inaugural EmpowHer Half Marathon, and the data speaks for itself. Our running community showed up in a big way:

🚺 80% Female Runners
🚹 20% Male Runners

To the 80% - the incredible women who claimed their space at the starting line, crushed their goals, and cheered each other on: you are the heart and soul of this event. 💜

To the 20% - the men who ran in solidarity, volunteered at aid stations, and cheered loudly from the sidelines: thank you for being fantastic allies and supporting the women in our community. 🤝

The half marathon may be over, but this energy isn't going anywhere.

Empowerment in Every Step 👟✨

While we pushed our limits last March on the pavement, our hearts were with our incredible beneficiary: Gender Watch Against Violence and Exploitation - GWAVE

We are so proud to stand behind an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of gender-based violence. GBV isn't just a "women's issue," it is a community crisis that thrives in silence.

Running a half marathon is a challenge of endurance, but the fight against violence requires a marathon effort from all of us. Let’s keep the conversation going, stay vigilant, and continue to support the vital work GWAVE does every day.

There is a special kind of magic in the moment a medal is placed around a runner’s neck. It’s the weight of the distance, the early mornings, and the sheer determination finally coming to rest.

But at the EmpowHer Half Marathon, that medal meant even more.

In this photo, a volunteer from Gender Watch Against Violence and Exploitation - GWAVE, the very organization we ran to support is the one honoring our runner at the finish line. It’s a powerful reminder that while this race is about celebrating women, the mission to end violence and exploitation is a journey we all walk TOGETHER.

To the men and women of GWAVE who stood at the finish line: thank you for being our loudest cheerleaders.
