Statement Regarding Recent Race Incident during RUN with Master in Davao City
We are aware of the recent issue involving a runner in our group who was accused of not following the proper course during the race. As a TEAM, we strongly value honesty, respect, and fair competition. We would like to emphasize that this matter was already settled at the event itself, with clarification and coordination directly from the event organizers. According to the organizers, no cheating (“pandadaya”) occurred, and the issue was considered resolved on-site.
Despite this, bullying and unnecessary involvement of individuals who are not part of the situation have continued online. Additionally, even after being clearly instructed and reprimanded by the coach to stop posting misleading and unnecessary statements, these actions have persisted.
Because this behavior continues and is now affecting individuals and the reputation of the group, we are left with no choice but to elevate the matter to legal action. We remind all members that integrity, respect, and accountability are non-negotiable values. We will continue to uphold these standards to safeguard the fairness and reputation of our community.
To ensure transparency, we are giving the runner the opportunity to repeat the segment to run again in same 12km to demonstrate that the performance was legitimate.
This is not meant to embarrass anyone, but to protect the integrity of the group and the sports.
If the runner is unable to produce a time reasonably close to the one recorded in the race, it will be considered a clear violation of our standards. In that case, we will take appropriate action, which may include removal from the group, in order to maintain fairness for everyone.
We ask all runners to compete with integrity and uphold the values that make our community strong.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
