In Loving Memory of Our Blue Knight, Rene Clert N. Baterbonia
Today, the Ateneo de Davao University Senior High School Sports Office and the entire Ateneo Community mourns the loss of one of our own, Rene Clert "Bobet" N. Baterbonia.
Rene was more than a student-athlete. He was a brother, a teammate, a friend, and an inspiration to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. On the basketball court, he played with determination, discipline, and excellence. Off the court, he carried himself with humility, kindness, and a gentle spirit that touched the lives of many.
We will forever remember Rene as our Gentle Giantโa young man whose presence brought strength, comfort, and joy to those around him. He was truly an MVP on and off the court, not because of the points he scored or the games he won, but because of the character he displayed, the respect he showed, and the love he shared with others.
As a Blue Knight, Rene embodied what it means to strive for excellence while remaining grounded in faith and service. His quiet leadership, unwavering dedication, and genuine concern for others will continue to inspire generations of student-athletes who follow in his footsteps.
Though his time with us was far too short, his impact will remain forever etched in our hearts and in the story of Ateneo sports. We thank God for the gift of his life, for the memories he leaves behind, and for the example he set for all of us.
To his family, friends, teammates, coaches, and loved ones, we extend our deepest prayers and heartfelt condolences. As a community, we stand with you in grief and in hope.
Rene, you wore the Blue Knight colors with pride and honor. You fought the good fight, ran the race with courage, and left a legacy that will never be forgotten.
Rest in the loving embrace of our Lord, Rene. Your Ateneo family will always remember you, and your spirit will forever remain a part of our team.
Once a Blue Knight, always a Blue Knight. ๐๐๐๏ธ
โEternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.โ
