Last week, for our after-run devotional, we discussed the previous Sunday's message: Live Wisely in the Light of Eternity.
So how do we make this year truly count? Based on Psalm 90, the oldest psalm in the Bible written by Moses, here is how we can live wisely in light of eternity.
1. Know Who God Is - Our moral life depends on having a right view of God. He is our dwelling place, our home where we find rest and security. He is the eternal Creator, and because He is eternal, He does not change.
2. Know Who We Are - Compared to eternity, our lives on earth are short. We are like grass that flourishes in the morning and fades in the evening. Acknowledging this helps us realize we need to live wisely.
3. Pray for Godβs Favor - To live wisely, we should pray for:
The Favor of Wisdom: To number our days and make our lives count.
The Favor of Lovingkindness: Finding real satisfaction and grace in God.
The Favor of Joy: A gift from God that transcends difficulties.
The Favor of Lasting Legacy: Confirming the work of our hands by investing in things that remain foreverβpeople and souls
