Davao Kenyukai is a kendo club based in Davao City, Philippines. Vision

We are affiliated with the United Kendo Federation of the Philippines. Mission Statement
Davao Kenyukai is dedicated to promoting the physical, mental, and spiritual development of
individuals in Davao City through the traditional martial art of Kendo. We strive to cultivate a strong
community of Kendo practitioners who value respect, discipline, and continuous self-improvement. Davao Kenyukai env

life. We aim to build a vibrant and inclusive community of Kendo enthusiasts, fostering respect,
camaraderie, and a shared passion for the art. By nurturing young Kendoka and promoting lifelong
learning, we aspire to become a beacon for Kendo in Davao City, enriching the city's cultural
landscape and inspiring individuals of all ages to embark on a rewarding journey of self-discovery
through Kendo. Guiding Principles
Our guiding principles are derived from the All Japan Kendo Federation's (AJKF) core values outlined
in "The Concept of Kendo" and "The Purpose of Practicing Kendo":
• Rei: Respect - We treat our fellow Kendo practitioners, instructors, and all others with courtesy
and respect, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Jin: Benevolence - We strive to develop compassion and understanding, using Kendo not for
aggression but for self-improvement and the betterment of society.
• Gi: Righteousness - We uphold integrity and fairness both on and off the Kendo practice area.
• Chi: Wisdom - We continuously seek knowledge and strive to improve our Kendo skills through
diligent practice and reflection.
• Shin: Sincerity - We approach Kendo with dedication and honesty, committed to personal
growth and the pursuit of excellence. By adhering to these principles, Davao Kenyukai aims to create a positive and enriching Kendo
experience for all its members, while contributing to the growth and development of the Kendo
community in Davao City.

What an incredible day we had! 🤩 It was so much fun to have a young visitor from Japan join us for practice. This was a wonderful opportunity, especially for our younger kouhai, to learn and grow. 🌱 We are incredibly grateful for the experience and the chance to share the dojo with you. 🙏

We also extend a huge thank you to Davao Yushinkai for joining us and adding to the energy and spirit of the session. Your presence made it even more special! ✨

Mabuhay Philippine Kendo! 🇵🇭

We'd like to extend a heartfelt congratulations to the HCMC Kendo Federation 🇻🇳 for a successful Ho Chi Minh City International Kendo Tournament 2025 held on August 9-10, 2025! We also want to thank and congratulate all of the participants who competed. 👏

A special congratulations goes out to our very own Davao Kenyukai member, Reida Jade Renovilla, for her achievements at the tournament: 🤩
