NAA KOY CHIKA, diri nag sugod na team ang 4-peat feat.
Who would have thought na naa diay sports meets ang DepEd for SY2022-2023? Nag sige lang nig traning na team in hopes na naay maapilan na tournaments. Nakaingon pa man gani si Melchien ug Mami na next SY na gyud ni sila makadula. Unya si Prior na assistant coach, way tungha-tungha sa practices kay lagi walay meets.
Ug sa dihang, nigawas man ang DepEd Order na naa man gyud diay. Lipay kay maka dula dula and didto nag intensify ang trainings. No mercy, gawas ang mahiwagang kamot ni Mami. Ang naka bah*g ta* ani lang kay dili basta basta maka Palaro kay naa pay ginatawag na Pre-National Qualifying Meet before ka makatamak sa Palaro.
So mao to, as usual, the Davao City Meet is always competitive. All teams are eager to represent the city. Ateneo and Pablo are already named teams who, like City High have had Palaro experience so it is expected that they too are a quality team managed by respected and able coaches. The team won and is the DCAA representative to the DAVRAA 2023 Volleyball Championships.
Largag Tagum City for the bakbakan, and lo and behold, bracket pa lang mura na mig nag fighting for Gold, Silver and Bronze. Bracket A was composed of Davao City, Digos City represented by the always competitive and quality players of Cor Jesu College and Davao Del Norte represented by the well supported ready to fight Sto. Tomas National High School. Sa bracket pa lang daan, bigwasay na gyud. Way usik, di sakit sa mata. The elimination games were an all-out-war, laying it all leaving nothing. Sukolay way ilahay, at the end of the tournament we won the Regional Championships against a hardworking Panabo City.
But wait, dili pa maka PALARO kay naa pay Pre-Qualifying National Meet where we as Region 11 champions will battle from the regional champions of Regions 10, 12 and 13 with only 2 slots available for PALARO 2023 Marikina City. And boy it was kurog kalag as we lost 1 game against Region 10 and we have a Do-And-Die game with Region 12. If we lost a set with them, we will not be able to fly to Marikina so givisualize gyud namo the night before the game a 2-0 game or bust. Ni step up tanan led by Team Captain Troy Abing, and we did it, 2-0! Marikina here we come!
This team started it all, started the pride that needs to be protected. Started the hard work, the collective effort and the mental toughness that the team is already beginning to be known for.
Pero dili na lang nako isulat diri kung unsa ka hanggaw mga bataa, manibat sa in-house training mu-ober da bakod sa Tagum Comprehensive National High School, unya binuangan pa sa Adamson University ang asst coach na gwapo, gi highblood bitaw. Ug ako pa idungag ang nahitabo sa SM Marikina with the walkouts?
The team is not complete in terms of skills set pero hindi po matatawaran ang sukol mentality.
That is why MAO NI AKO ICHIKA NINYO, this team started the culture and is improved year after year. Hard work creates luck, support improves luck and community inspires luck.
