Meet the reception team! They're the first people you talk to when you arrive at Liquid, and the ones you'll go back to when you need pretty much anything during your stay. Booking a massage, arranging a tricycle, figuring out where to eat in town, sorting out your ferry ticket for the next leg of your trip โ€“ they can assist you!

Between them, they know this area inside out and are always happy to help you make the most of your time here. Don't be shy about asking questions, no matter how small. They're happy to help!

Meet Cyerce basi, one of the butterfly sea slugs you can spot along the Dauin coast. They get their name from their large, paddle-shaped cerata that look just like butterfly wings. Cyerce basi has a semi-transparent, almost golden body that seems to glow under dive lights โ€“ so delicate it can easily be missed against the sand and rubble.

Fun fact: this species was only recently given its own name. For years, divers and photographers identified it as Cyerce elegans, but a taxonomic revision revealed that the true Cyerce elegans is actually pink, and this golden translucent species deserved its own name.

Like other butterfly sea slugs, Cyerce basi has a clever defense mechanism. When threatened, it can drop its cerata on the spot. The detached pieces keep wriggling and release sticky secretions, distracting the predator while the slug makes its escape.

It's not the easiest critter to find, but our divemasters have a good eye for the small stuff.

We've cut single-use plastics from the resort wherever we can: no plastic straws, no plastic water bottles, no unnecessary packaging around the bar and restaurant. We offer refillable water stations instead of a stack of bottles in the room, and we only use metal straws. These may seem small choices, but they add up when you multiply them across a full year of guests.

We also do regular underwater and beach cleanups. The reefs of Dauin and Apo Island are the reason many people come here in the first place, and we want them to still be thriving for years to come.

As a Green Fins Member, we're continuously looking for new ways to improve. There's always more to do, but we believe in progress over perfection. If you have any questions about our sustainability efforts, feel free to reach out!

Ever heard of the saying 'plan your dive and dive your plan'? It basically means you should always plan your dive, regardless of your experience level or familiarity with the site. Once planned, you stay within the limits you've established (your maximum depth, your bottom time, your turnaround point) even if you want to stare at that cute turtle for a bit longer.

That said, sometimes deviating from the plan is necessary. You might arrive at the site and find the current is stronger than expected, visibility is lower, or the entry point isn't safe. In those cases, adjusting the plan (or calling the dive off completely) is the right call. Diving your plan doesn't mean being rigid. It means being prepared, aware, and willing to make smart decisions when conditions change.

Say hello to our dive team!

These are the people who make every dive day happen. They're up early prepping tanks, checking gear, and loading the boats before you've even had breakfast. During the day, they're guiding dives, running courses, spotting the tiniest critters, and making sure everyone gets back on board safely. After the last dive, they're rinsing gear, refilling tanks, and getting everything ready to do it all again tomorrow.

They're also the ones patiently coaching nervous new divers through their first breaths underwater, mentoring divemaster candidates, running instructor courses, and sharing years of knowledge about the reefs, marine life, and our local dive sites. Many of them trained here at Liquid and stayed on. They dive daily and know these sites inside and out.

To our dive team, thank you for your hard work and the care you put into every single dive!

You may already know kinilaw, but have you tried sinuglaw?

Kinilaw is a classic Filipino dish made with fresh raw fish marinated in vinegar and calamansi. The acidity โ€œcooksโ€ the fish, giving it that signature fresh and tangy flavor.

Sinuglaw takes it one step further by adding grilled pork on top. The combination of smoky, savory pork and bright, citrusy fish creates the perfect balance of flavors and textures. If you love Filipino food or want to try something truly local, this dish is a must-try.

Getting to the dive site is part of the adventure, and we've got a few ways to make it happen.

Our two speedboats are perfect for quick trips to nearby coastal sites. Small groups, fast rides, and minimal fuss. Great when you just want to get in the water and go!

SunDancer, our large traditional bangka, is built for longer days. She takes us to Apo Island for full-day trips and handles bigger groups comfortably, with plenty of deck space, shade, and room to relax between dives.

Sometimes the easiest way to get to a site is by land, and that's where our dive truck comes in. It lets us reach dive spots along the coast quickly and efficiently. One big bonus is that you get a short tour through Dauin along the way and a glimpse of local life.

Having different options means we can match the trip to the diving. Whether you're heading out with a group of ten, hopping in the truck for a quick shore dive, or just want a private speedboat for the morning, we've got the right ride for the day. For more information about our dive facilities, please message us.

This cute little critter is often at the top of the list of scuba divers coming to Dauin!

The pygmy seahorse is so tiny that it can be hard to see with the bare eye. You need a camera and a good zoom lens to admire all the details of this pink beauty.

Have you ever been lucky enough to see one on a dive?
