Riding the momentum of a successful season, the Barangay Lower Becerril Basketball Team is geared up for another championship run as it joins the Barangay Granada Fiesta League on Sunday, June 14, 2026.

The annual tournament will feature the best basketball squads from the municipality's 13 barangays, setting the stage for another exciting battle for supremacy on the hardwood.

Backed by Barangay Captain Lloyd Fuentes, the Lower Becerril cagers are looking to sustain their winning form and build on the consistency they have displayed throughout the year.

The team opened its 2026 campaign on a high note after capturing the prestigious Boljoon Summer League Championship. Lower Becerril showcased its championship pedigree by defeating the formidable SAYC Team of Barangay Poblacion in the title showdown.

Their rivalry with Poblacion continued in the San Antonio Fiesta League, where Lower Becerril once again advanced to the championship round. However, this time, the squad fell short as Poblacion emerged victorious, denying Lower Becerril a second crown of the season.

Despite the setback, the team remains one of the hottest squads in Boljoon basketball, boasting back-to-back finals appearances and proving it can compete with the municipality's elite teams.

With confidence running high and team chemistry continuing to improve, Lower Becerril aims to make another deep playoff run in the Granada Fiesta League while keeping its eyes firmly set on an even bigger stage—the annual Boljoon Town Fiesta League scheduled to tip off in September 2026.

As the season progresses, basketball fans can expect the Lower Becerril cagers to bring the same grit, determination, and championship mindset that have made them one of the most competitive teams in the local basketball scene. | via Manny Medida
