Helpful tips fr mr wildfoot!
A farmer, carpenter, welder, mason, plumber, master breeder🐓

This is what happens when you breed to the end of the season. I never learn, year after year. April/May born. It’s October and my range still has stock. I wont be able to use this part of the range this year.

This is not ideal. The land needs rest, chicken manure takes 45-60 days to cure to stop the greens burning. Also important is the carbon to nitrogen ratio, overstocking will kill your soil and will generate to much heat. the ideal chicken manure to green ratio is 2:1. Then you have amonnia where where you have nitrogen and hydrogen on the surface where it should be deep in the soil for the greens to benefit.

You have breeders complaining how the soil is no longer ideal but they don’t understand why. You need to understand it as a whole and the relationship between the soil and your animals.

You’ve read this far I might as well let you in on a secret. Gameness many would think is in the bloodline, yes that is true but a lot of it comes from health. The “quit” in game birds in majority of the time is because the bird was not healthy at all times of its life.

This chicken farming stuff is not easy.
