THE SILENT ASSASSIN, THE VETERAN ANCHOR, THE UNSUNG HERO OF GAME 3: ARIEL "SAKI" SAQUILLABON
Look closely at our throwback photos from years ago compared to our championship photo today. Rosters change, jerseys evolve, and years pass, but one constant remains through it all: Ariel "Saki" Saquillabon.
Saki is the oldest active Optum Knight on the roster. He has been donning the jersey and suiting up for Inter-BPO leagues since 2016–2018. Through every era, every rebuilding phase, and every hard-fought tournament, he has been the quiet backbone of this team. Representing Optum and holding down the fort for the IT Department, Saki embodies what true loyalty, grit, and humility look like in the Cebu BPO basketball community.
He has never been one to chase stats, demand the spotlight, or pose loudly for the camera. Look at our championship photo—while the team is holding the trophy high, Saki is right there in the front center, kneeling with a quiet smile, content simply knowing the job is done.
That is what makes a true veteran. Actions always speak louder than words.
When Game 3 reached its absolute breaking point, experience took over. Alongside JP Faustino’s huge play down the stretch, Saki became the ultimate savior of our season. Clinging to a tight 61–65 lead with everything on the line, the entire tournament came down to sheer composure. Saki stepped up to the free-throw line, blocked out the arena noise, and calmly sank the final dagger free throw to ice the game, seal the victory, and lock the trophy in our hands.
He didn't just play—he finished it.
To a certified veteran, a day-one Knight, an IT pride, and the Silent Assassin who saved Game 3: the entire Cebu hoops community salutes you, Saki! 🫡🏀🔥
