READ: The PAREF Springdale Titans are ready take center stage as one of the two newest member schools of the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI).

For head coach Jax Bautista, who has been with the school since 2010, joining CESAFI has long been part of PAREF Springdale’s plan.

“We felt that it was time to take that big step and compete with the best,” Bautista said.

Springdale may not have the size, scholarship resources or recruiting reach of the league’s bigger programs, but Bautista believes the school can compete through its system and player development.

“We may be one of the smallest teams in the league, but our players will not back down from any challenge,” he said. “For us, every game will feel like David versus Goliath.”

The team plans to play an exciting, fast-paced style built on ball movement, teamwork, discipline and confidence.

“We want people to recognize PAREF Springdale by the way we play,” Bautista said.

For its debut season, Springdale’s goal is straightforward: compete in every possession and never give up. While the team would love to finish among the top contenders, the bigger priority is to establish itself and grow with every game.

Springdale is treating its CESAFI entry as a long-term commitment. It will also field a 15-and-under team this year and plans to add a 12-and-under team next year, building a pipeline of young players who can eventually represent the school at the high school level.
