The Barangay Chess Program of the PSC–NCFP (National Chess Federation of the Philippines) in the Municipality of San Miguel has been rescheduled to May 23–24, 2026, starting at 8:00 AM onwards at the District II Covered Court.

This adjustment was made to avoid conflict with the Annual Preventive Maintenance Test (APMT).

In line with this situation, other chess tour activities will also be moved and rescheduled accordingly.

Opisyal nang inanunsyo ng San Miguel Chess Club, sa pakikipagtulungan sa Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) at Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Municipal Federation, ang kauna-unahang San Miguel Chess Cup 2026 na gaganapin sa Mayo 10, 2026, mula alas 8:00 ng umaga hanggan alas 5:00 ng hapon, sa San Miguel Sports Center (District II Covered Court) sa San Miguel.

Ang kompetisyon na ito ay bukas sa lahat ng mga taga-San Miguel na nagnanais na ipakita ang kanilang galing at kaalaman sa larangan ng chess.

Ayon sa organisasyon, gagamitin sa turneo ang Six (6) Rounds Swiss System pairing na may 20-minute time control (no increment) at ang buong kompetisyon ay gagabayan ng kasalukuyang FIDE Laws of Chess – Rapid System upang matiyak ang patas at de-kalidad na laban.

The PSC–NCFP Barangay Chess Program proudly brings its activities to the Province of Catanduanes, marking a milestone in local chess history. This event will be remembered as the first-ever FIDE Rated Chess Tournament in Catanduanes, opening doors for players of all ages and skill levels to gain official recognition in the international chess community.

This Barangay Chess Program of the PSC–NCFP ( National Chess Federation of the Philippines - NCFP) aims to promote chess, discover talents, and develop grassroots players into future youth masters.
