🎯 QUALIFICATIONS

• Currently enrolled and must be a college student, 17–25 years old
• No failing grades
• Competitive rank/experience is an advantage, but not required
• Strong game mechanics, map awareness, and game sense
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Knowledge in drafting and shot-calling
• Available for practices 7:00 PM onwards
• Good attitude and sportsmanship inside and outside the game
• Open to feedback, criticism, and corrections
• Willing to commit and represent MCU

TRYOUT FORMAT

No need to form your own team!

Players will undergo individual skill evaluation and will be assigned to temporary teams for scrimmage matches.

Your individual skill and overall performance will be the primary basis for selection. Players may also be reassigned to different teams in subsequent rounds to further evaluate their performance and compatibility with their teams.

The MCU Supremos pulled off a dramatic fourth-quarter comeback to outlast the Enderun Titans, 77-74, to advance to the Sweet 16 of the Pinoyliga Cup “The Big Dance” Season Three last Sunday, August 16, 2026 at the Ateneo Blue Eagle Gym.

The Titans dominated early in the first quarter behind the hot perimeter shooting of Kian Diva and CJ Garcia and Panganiban’s work on the glass. Despite MCU’s efforts to keep pace with a Daniel Santelices’ three-pointer and inside touches from David Odior, early turnovers and missed free throws plagued the Supremos. As the first quarter finished, a turnover from the Supremos followed by a three-pointer by Diva pushed Enderun’s lead to double digits.

David Odior made his presence felt in the second quarter, keeping the MCU Supremos afloat with his interior presence and physical finishes, including several tough and-one plays. However, Titans’ Garcia responded with a four-point play, while Diva added a couple of threes to further stretch the lead.

Seanne General opened the second half with a crafty layup to bring MCU within one. Enderun’s Luke Valte and Joey Panganiban attempted to anchor the Titans, but Odior proved unstoppable inside the paint, highlighted by a roaring two-handed fast-break jam.

After a successful out-of-bounds challenge at the seven minutes and 18 seconds of the third quarter by MCU’s Head Coach Ian Racela, the Supremos tightened their defense. Santelices caught fire from deep, draining back-to-back triples to reach 11 points and tie the game. Odior’s big block on Nebwhani inside the paint anchored the Supremos’ defense. John Rey Guevarra’s steal and layup propelled the Supremos in front by the end of the third.

The Supremos slowly found their rhythm with Santelices’ back-to-back second-half triples to tie the game. The defining stretch came in the final period when MCU unleashed a suffocating defense, holding Enderun scoreless for seven minutes and 35 seconds during an astonishing 12-0 run. The streak was capped by Francious Dela Cruz’s corner three and Kyle Mercado’s pull-up jumper pushed the Supremos’ lead to 73-62.

Enderun mounted a late rally with Garcia, making a couple of transition buckets to trim the deficit to three with a one minute left. They failed to foul quickly on the final possession, allowing MCU to run out the clock.

Odior led the Supremos with a double-double, scoring 21 points, and grabbing ten crucial rebounds while also recording a pair of highlight-worthy blocks. His paint presence stunned the Titans, especially in the fourth quarter. He stepped up when the team needed him in the second half of the game. “[During the timeout, Coach Ian told us to] do our role, not too more, not too less…” Odior recalled, quoting Coach Racela’s message that helped settle the team’s composure during the second half.
