SULJOVIC STUNS MVG! MICHAEL VAN GERWEN CRASHES OUT

Another tough night for “Mighty Mike.” Michael van Gerwen suffered an early exit at the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy, losing 6–4 to Mensur Suljovic in Basel.

Suljovic came out firing, racing into a 5–2 lead and producing a crucial 138 checkout early in the match. MVG fought back to close the gap, but the Dutch superstar missed chances to force a deciding leg, allowing the Austrian to seal the victory.

HUMPHRIES SURVIVES! COOL HAND EDGES DOETS IN THRILLER

Luke Humphries survived a huge scare against Kevin Doets, winning 6–5 in a dramatic second-round clash at the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy in Basel.

Humphries looked unstoppable early, racing into a 3–0 lead with sensational checkouts of 122 and 121. But Doets refused to fold, producing a brilliant 105.64 average and dragging the match all the way to a deciding leg.

In the decider, Cool Hand held his nerve to complete the 6–5 victory. Humphries finished with an average of around 103 and converted an impressive 67% of his doubles.

Fresh from winning the World Grand Prix, Humphries now advances to the Last 16, where he will face Krzysztof Ratajski.

Michael “Bully Boy” Smith is through to the last 16 of the 2026 Swiss Darts Trophy!

Smith produced a vintage display in Basel, defeating Jermaine Wattimena 6–4 in the second round. The 2023 World Champion averaged an impressive 102.65, comfortably outscoring Wattimena’s 93.68.

After beating Rob Owen 6–4 in his opening match, Smith has now secured back-to-back victories and continues his push for a strong finish to the European Tour season.

With his scoring power and finishing beginning to click, Bully Boy is looking dangerous again.

BULLY BOY IS BACK!

Michael “Bully Boy” Smith showed his fighting spirit at the Swiss Darts Trophy, coming from 3–1 down to defeat Rob Owen 6–4 in a thrilling opening-round battle!

Smith produced a solid 90.94 average and nailed 50% of his doubles to secure his place in Round Two. After a difficult period battling injuries and inconsistency, this victory could be another important step in the former World Champion’s comeback.

And Bully Boy has made his intentions clear — he wants to be back competing at 100% of the tournaments in 2027.

HUMPHRIES COMPLETES STUNNING COMEBACK TO BEAT PRICE!

LUKE HUMPHRIES IS A WORLD GRAND PRIX CHAMPION AGAIN! 🏆

What a comeback! Luke Humphries fought back from 3–0 down to defeat Gerwyn Price 6–4 in an incredible 2026 World Grand Prix final at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.

Price came flying out of the blocks, but Humphries refused to panic. A crucial 105 checkout helped keep Cool Hand Luke alive, before he completely turned the momentum around and eventually took control of the match.

The victory gives Humphries his second World Grand Prix title, adding another major trophy to his collection and ending his major-title drought in spectacular fashion. He also becomes the first player to reach four consecutive World Grand Prix finals.

For Price, it was another painful major final defeat. The Iceman had opportunities to put the match away but couldn't capitalize when it mattered most.

Gerwyn Price has booked his place in the 2026 World Grand Prix Final after defeating Nathan “The Asp” Aspinall 5–2 in a heated semi-final at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester.

Price came out firing, racing into a 3–0 lead and putting Aspinall under huge pressure. But “The Asp” showed his fighting spirit, producing a spectacular 132 checkout featuring two bullseyes to pull a set back and later close the gap to 3–2.

However, Price regained control in the final stages, winning the sixth and seventh sets to seal a 5–2 victory and reach his fourth World Grand Prix final.

Aspinall's tournament ends after an incredible run that included a 105.15 average in his quarter-final demolition of Ryan Joyce—the highest average recorded in a best-of-five-sets match at the World Grand Prix.

ASPINALL STORMS PAST JOYCE!

Nathan Aspinall delivers a stunning performance at the 2026 World Grand Prix! 🔥

“The Asp” swept aside Ryan Joyce 3–0 in the quarter-finals at the Mattioli Arena in Leicester, producing one of the tournament’s most impressive displays.

Aspinall averaged an incredible 105.15, the fourth-highest average in World Grand Prix history and the highest ever recorded in a best-of-five-sets match at the event.

He raced through the opening set before producing clinical 110 and 112 checkouts to establish a commanding lead. Joyce fought back in the third, but Aspinall responded with 13- and 14-dart legs to seal a straight-sets victory.

Aspinall now advances to the semi-finals, where he faces Gerwyn Price on October 3.
