Amor, Gliane Gold at 2026 National PRISAA Games
Jomari Amor defended his gold medal in the lightweight division for the third consecutive time, making him a 3-time National PRISAA gold medalist. In the finals, the knockdown in the third round became the turning point of the fight, securing him a split-decision victory against tough Lamorena of Baguio.
Charlene Gliane also made a statement by defeating her rival, Pais of CAR, via unanimous decision. She successfully avenged her two defeats against Pais during the 2024 and 2025 National PRISAA tournaments. She became the second athlete of SIT, after Amor, to capture a gold medal at the nationals.
Aljohn Encinares earned a silver medal after delivering a standout performance against the featherweight division’s boogeyman, Botlig of Region 7. However, in the finals, he was defeated by a boxer from Region 6, who was later adjudged as the Best Boxer of the event.
The two first-timers at the nationals, Daniel Gibaga and Aldrin Encinares, also proved themselves by capturing bronze medals. Although they had been both eliminated in the semifinals by PMI boxers from Region 7, they had already secured two victories each in the preliminary and quarterfinal bouts.
These achievements helped Region 5 secure the Overall 2nd Runner-Up Award, behind CAR and Region 12, which were declared 1st Runner-Up and Overall Champion, respectively.
