THE MIND THAT REFUSED TO GIVE UP

Two days. Three districts. Three Categories. 18 strong chess athletes. Every game tested their minds, patience, and emotions. But Princess Keziah Berizo, Bryant Keith L. Balanga-an and Steve Francis L. Balanga-an stood their ground, fought through every difficult position, and earned their place in the provincial meet.

GAMBIT GUILD SWEEPS BANGA NORTH DISTRICT MEET, SECURES 4 MUNICIPAL QUALIFIERS

The Gambit Guild of San Vicente National High School delivered a strong performance in the Banga North District Meet, competing against 8 chess players for each category from Kusan NHS and Rizal 3 NHS.

Steve Francis L. Balanga-an topped the Boys Division, followed by Bryant Keith L. Balanga-an and John Floyd J. Agpalsa in second and third, respectively. In the Girls Division, Shaza H. Calanao placed third, while Rachel P. Tutor and Ellyn Britanico secured fourth and fifth.

Steve, Bryant, John Floyd, and Shaza advanced to the Municipal Meet, carrying the Gambit Guild's winning moves to the next level.

STEVE MAKES HIS FIRST MOVE IN THE CITY OF KORONADAL

Steve Francis L. Balanga-an, under the mentorship of Sir Marjone L. Pamplona, joined the "25th Charter Anniversary and 4th Atty. Eliordo U. Ogena Koronadal City Chess Tournament".

Competing in the "Class B 1950 and Below Open Category", he earned the 33rd spot out of 103 participants, a solid performance that reflects his growing passion for chess.

In a battle of minds and tactics, Banga North District emerged as the overall champion in the two-day Chess Tournament of the Banga Municipal Meet 2025, outplaying contenders from Banga East and Banga South.

With 9 boys and 9 girls competing across Blitz, Rapid, and Standard categories, Banga North proved its dominance on the chessboard, bagging multiple gold, silver, and bronze medals to secure victory.

The Gambit Guild Chess Club proudly unveils our official Sublimated Polo Shirt, crafted with pride by the Beato Imprints!

This striking polo comes in green, black, and white, carrying the Gambit Guild logo upfront and “Chess Player” boldly at the back. On the chest rests our school seal, reminding us of the honor we represent.

Completing the design are the timeless chess icons like rook, queen, bishop, and king, stylishly printed on the sides, symbolizing strategy, power, and unity.

GUILDMASTER LEVELS UP SKILLS AT CHESS COACHES TRAINING♟️

Sir Marjone L. Pamplona, our dedicated Guildmaster, took part in the Upskilling and Refresher Course Training for Chess Coaches conducted by the Banga Municipality Athletic Association.

The program provided updated techniques and strategies to help coaches guide student-athletes more effectively.
