The PH Taekwondo Greats 🇵🇭

Philippine taekwondo has built a strong legacy, producing some of the region’s most accomplished athletes on the international stage.

Monsour del Rosario and Stephen Fernandez helped place the country on the global map, earning World Championship honors and representing the Philippines at the Olympic level.

Beatriz Lucero-Lhuillier followed with an Olympic bronze, while Roberto Cruz became one of the sport’s most decorated athletes, highlighted by multiple World Championship podium finishes and six SEA Games gold medals.

John Paul Lizardo continued that legacy with consistent success, capturing SEA Games titles and competing strongly in international tournaments.

The Wake-up Call That Started It All 🥋

Before becoming one of the Philippines’ most accomplished taekwondo athletes, Roberto “Kitoy” Cruz experienced a defining moment early in his journey—being thrown into a sparring match with little preparation.

That moment pushed him to take the sport seriously and learn it the right way.

It would go on to shape a career that made him one of the most successful Filipino taekwondo jins in international competition.
