Set in the heart of Bacolod City in Negros Island is the championship golf course, the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club established in August 1982. Formerly known as the Marapara Golf & Country Club named after the crown jewel of Negros Occidental, the magnificent Marapara Peak which backdrops the scene presents a picturesque view for the recreational golfer. The course plays 6,197 yards of seemingly flat fairways and strategically placed water hazards was designed by the most highly esteemed of Filipino amateur golfer, Negrense Golf legend, Luis “Golem” Silverio. The sugarcane fields were transformed into a presentation of nature and man-made brilliance. The narrow and winding fairways are lined with a wide array of pine, eucalyptus trees and Philippine mahogany. This marvellous scenery poses a balance of challenges, ordeals calibrated by the unpredictable greens and the ever blowing winds. It is truly the dream course of every ambitious golfer out on a quest for an exciting, nerve-wracking and pleasurable round of golf.

JUSTIN LIMJAP RECLAIMS MARAPARA CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Businessman Justin Limjap is back as the men's club champion of the Negros Occidental Golf and Country Club in Bacolod.
Limjap scored a convincing 6&5 victory over John Paul Gaston in today's 36-hole final to end a five-year wait for his fourth title.
The 63-year-old Gaston, nephew of the late amateur legend Francis, simply had no answer to Limjap's solid play in their rain-drenched final.
Limjap earned a return trip to the National Tournament of Club Champions next May at Eagle Ridge where he reigned as men's champion then representing Valley.
"It's been a while, just happy to have earned another chance to play the NTCC," said Limjap, who relocated to Bacolod in 2020.
