An Inspiring Event: Meet and Greet with Senator. Risa Hontiveros

Held at the NVC Carmen Hotel this November 23, 2024, this special event gathered representatives from various NVC organizations and departments, along with student leaders from ASU Ibajay, Aklan Polytechnic College, and STI College.

Our school president, Sir Allan Angelo Lao Quimpo, warmly welcomed Senator Hontiveros, proudly highlighting her Aklanon roots from the municipality of Tangalan. The event, organized by JCI Aklan Kalantiao, also featured the esteemed presence of Mrs. Lilian Tirol.

Senator Hontiveros delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging youth leaders to advocate for good governance, starting from local barangays and extending to Malacañang. Her call to action resonated deeply with all attendees, emphasizing the power of youth in shaping a better future.

PHYSICAL EDUCATION EDUCATION DEPARTMENT CONDUCT 2-DAYS SEMINAR WORKSHOP ON OFFICIATING AND COACHING

In anticipation of the upcoming Palaro 2024, the Bachelor of Physical Education(BPED) of Northwestern Visayan Colleges (NVC) hosted a two-day seminar-workshop aimed at refining officiating and coaching skills. Held at Aklan Sports Complex, Calangcang, Makato, Aklan, on October 25-26 2024, the event spotlighted the theme, "Beyond the Whistle: Enhancing Skills for Officiating and Coaching Success" ATHLETICS and SWIMMING.

This dynamic workshop brought together seasoned experts. Notable resource speaker Mr. John Michael T. Ibo, shared his expertise in track and field officiating, focusing on crucial rules and infractions to ensure accuracy and fairness in athletics.

Another esteemed speaker, Mr. Maylord Bonifacio conducted sessions on officiating in swimming, covering vital techniques, stroke categories, and common rule violations, enabling participants to effectively oversees swimming events.

Together with ma'am Mary Ann S. Lopez - Cultural Coordinator & Sports Consultant and ma'am Angelica Dejosef- PE Teacher, and special thanks to the Supreme Student Council (SSC) officers and to our enthusiastic BPED and BCAED students for their active participation and commitment. Your involvement is truly inspiring!

This seminar aims to enhance participants’ coaching and officiating skills, enabling them to handle their respective sports assignments proficiently during the NVC Palaro. The training will also provide participants with the knowledge to manage competitions safely and impartially, emphasizing leadership and direction in sports officiating.

𝗣𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗪𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰: TAKBONG LAKAS KABATAAN

Held on 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, the BPED Department, in partnership with 𝗡𝗩𝗖 𝗥𝗖𝗬 and the JJC NVC, proudly hosted Fun Run 2024 with the theme "𝗧𝗮𝗸𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗴 Lakas 𝗞𝗮𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗮𝗻" at NVC CSQ Gymnasium. This exciting event brought together athletes from Kalibo to test their endurance, strength, and perseverance.

Joining the festivities were 𝗖𝗪𝗧𝗦 𝗦𝘁𝘂𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 and guests from 𝗥𝗼𝗯 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, who energized the participants through a Zumba session. The event served as a platform to promote health and fitness, with special messages from notable guests like 𝗗𝗿. 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗤𝘂𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼, 𝗠𝗿𝘀. 𝗟𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗧𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗹, and 𝗛𝗼𝗻. 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽 𝗞𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼, who all advocated for the holistic well-being of the youth.

Thanks to the unwavering commitment of everyone involved, the event concluded with great success, showcasing the power of unity and collaboration.
