This isn't going right at all.

Oceania Rugby has confirmed that Papua New Guinea Rugby Union (PNGRU) has been suspended from the Regional Association of World Rugby.

The suspension means, that PNGRU will not be able to participate in any regional or international meet until the suspension is lifted.

Interesting News from the World Rugby!

World Rugby has confirmed the withdrawal of Papua New Guinea’s men’s and women’s teams from the World Rugby Sevens Repechage in Monaco on June 21-23.

While disappointing for all concerned, the decision was made for reasons including player welfare, due to the teams not securing the necessary travel documentation to meet their pre-tournament arrival deadline.

In accordance with the Terms of Participation agreement and in alignment with other World Rugby Sevens events, all pool matches involving Papua New Guinea will be treated as void with no points awarded.

AROB Rugby Union in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville is expected to reach a certain level as a result of the Komuniti Rugby 7s initiative program that has been ongoing for some years back since its inception.

This year , the Komuniti Rugby 7s Festival First Leg coincided with the AROB Foundation Day on the 15th June this year. Fascinating as it is, It definitely shows a glimpse of potential union players will ascend from that province.

Only time will tell!

Their recent statement on the Niu Power 7s championship can not go unnoticed. This Komuniti Rugby 7s initiative program that has drawn highlights of the First Leg Festival that eventuated on the ABG foundation Day this month is set to continue on.

AROB Rugby Union should be proud of this initiative untaken which will go along way in unleashing more 7s players now and into the future.
