Press Release: MRU receives Support from Chairman, LCA

The MRU has received financial support from LCA in a timely manner to help boost the struggling start of the season. Upon accepting the support, our Vice President Mr Richard Songake ,witnessed by club presidents and stakeholders, thanked the Chairman and DPM Mr John Rosso for the support and ensured that the continuous support from LCA will boost the coming season and it has always significantly contributed to the growth of the Code despite the current compliance issues faced by PNGRU.

Despite the issues we have with our mother Association, MRU continues to promote the good game of rugby by administering games season after season. This is the 3rd consecutive season that we have received support from LCA which indicates a standing and trustworthy relationship between us.

It is obvious that Rugby League is the main attraction for most young men and women especially with the recent growth and extension into the NRL. it is sometimes a struggle to find the best if League has a wider interest. However there is still support from the community and the continuous efforts by our young men who turn up every Saturday morning to play Rugby which must never be overlooked. As administrators of the Code in Morobe, we are still trying to keep alive this beautiful game and with continuous support, we will continue to deliver the best that we can until our term as executives expire before the start of next season.

We are incredibly grateful for LCA and the Chairman to continue to believe in the Code and to continue to give us the trust to administer the game.
