The legend himself Sensei Kokubo Juichi has traveled thousands of miles from his home in Peru and paid visit to the Higaonna Honbu Dojo in Naha-shi, Okinawa. Kokubo Sensei is regarded with the utmost respect by members of the TOGKF around the world. He was the longest serving true uchi deshi of Higaonna Sensei in the 1970’s as well as an active instructor at Yoyogi; in fact, he was already yudansha when many lifetime karateka first stepped foot into the dojo. As a result of his many decades of dedicated Goju-ryu training, Kokubo sensei not only demonstrates refined and fearsome technique, but he also emits a unique sense of joy and humility befitting of a true master.
