MEGA is fully funded by its Member Clubs and administered by a Board of Directors. Together, the committee works to promote the protection and welfare of gymnasts, providing a training framework and overseeing the set- up and arrangement of the annual competition schedule. The aims of MEGA are:
To develop and improve standards of gymnasts in the region
To develop and improve coaching standards in the region
To develop and improve the standards of judging in the region
To provide a wide variety of level of competition so that as many gymnasts as possible can participate
Dissemination of information to all member clubs
At present, there are multiple Member Clubs in the association providing a full range of activities for thousands of gymnasts. Affiliation is subject to approval from the existing Member Clubs and applications can be made via the website. Clubs are required to provide evidence that their coaches are qualified, club management meets the ethical standard of MEGA and that all training is conducted under the framework of the USA Gymnastics Compulsories Programme.
