I spent 3 weeks in my hometown saying goodbye not only to my mother, but to my house. Along with the house came so many childhood memories, this one is about running.

I have always run along the same routes, back in cross country days, high school days and all my visits back as an adult. As I neared the house on my last run from there, I learned that you can cry while running, it’s just not recommended 🤣. It makes it very hard to breathe!!

I found some old 5k certificates of my moms, one of which was only 7 months after I was born!! Her times were great, I never ran with her but on my last run from her house I ran her pace and thought of her as a strong adult with goals and ambitions and how proud she always was of my accomplishments and races.

Race 2 of the Canterbury Duathlon Series. The sun was shining ☀️. This series has 3 races each 2 weeks apart. We compete for points, but it’s also fun to compete against myself since it’s the same course each time.

This week felt slightly harder than the first race. There was a little more wind on the bike, I started a little too fast on the run and I’m probably in a worse cycle week than the last one.

Aside from all of that, the times were pretty similar it just hurt a little more today 😜

I’m looking forward to race 3 and currently sitting in 2nd for my age group 🥈

The inaugural !

Chilly start but a fun beautiful and challenging course. I knew we would climb over 450 m but I wasn’t prepared for how steep it was. The 1000m decent was controlled chaos as I felt like I was hanging on for dear life at moments 🤣.

My goal was under 2 hours since it was so hilly and I was very happy with the result. 4th in my age group is even more exciting ❤️

The food at the end was amazing! Akaroa Salmon tacos ❤️❤️❤️.

It was a great race! Sign up for next year.

March and this summer weren’t all about gym, run, swim, bike…my other love is waterskiing. I got a new ski that I love but am still trying to get used too. Imagine driving a regular car around a racetrack which is challenging enough and then driving the course in a race car! That’s how it feels, it’s too good for my skills but it’s fun 🤩

I like to joke about still skiing at 80…it’s a great goal to have ❤️❤️

What amazing thing would you like to still do at 80??

Just because I wasn’t posting doesn’t mean I wasn’t moving:)

Our gym put on “Move it March” and while I didn’t need any encouragement to keep moving, I enjoyed some of the extra challenges.

Specifically the Stair climber was such a KILLER!! Has anyone done that before? It was 100 flights in about 17 minutes, I was dripping with sweat! Thistle Fit NZ

On top of this was all my regular workouts with triathlon and gym sessions!!
