We would also like to acknowledge the City College boys who attended the trials but narrowly missed selection this time. It takes courage to put yourself forward, compete, and strive for higher honours. Keep working hard, continue to back yourselves, and know that your efforts have not gone unnoticed. Our Under 16 Boys will take on the Hurricanes Youth Rugby Council U16 Boys Tournament, a highlight on the calendar, which will again take place in our backyard at Whanganui Collegiate School.

🏆 **CHAMPIONS x2 - A Historic Year for City College Rugby!** 🏆

What an incredible season for City College Rugby!

Congratulations to our **Tranzit Coachlines Whanganui Under 15 Boys**, who have been crowned **2026 Champions**, securing an outstanding **third consecutive championship** in this division. To win one title is special, but to achieve a **three-peat** is a testament to the dedication, resilience, and commitment of this group of young men.

A huge congratulations to **Z'Del Hopkins-Dalley**, who was deservedly named **Player of the Final** after an outstanding performance that helped lead his team to victory.

Our thanks also go to our exceptional coaching and management team **Willie Scanlan**, **Rick Winterburn**, and **Manager Amber McKee** whose countless hours of hard work, encouragement, and belief have played a huge role in this success.

We also acknowledge the ongoing support and mentorship from our **1st XV coaching team** - **Joe Fazakerley, Ham Faletaupule, and Chubby Jaz Koro**. Their commitment to building a strong rugby pathway has helped create a culture where our younger players can thrive and aspire to the next level.

This success has not happened overnight.

Six years ago, City College Rugby began rebuilding from the ground up. Through dedication, strong leadership, and a commitment to developing our players both on and off the field, that vision has become reality.

A huge thank you to the Whanganui City College School Board for the awesome new rugby uniforms!

Our rangatahi are incredibly proud to wear them, and they look absolutely outstanding on and off the field. Your support for our students and sports programmes means a lot, and these uniforms have given the team a real boost of pride, confidence, and unity.

We truly appreciate the investment you continue to make in our young athletes and in the spirit of our school. Thank you for backing our team and helping our players represent Whanganui City College with pride. 💙❤️🏉

City College is incredibly proud of our rangatahi, Jackson Fisher and Reihana Hemi, who were out in the community last week giving back through sport. 🏉

Jackson and Reihana took on refereeing duties at Huntley School during their traditional rugby exchange with Scots College, Wellington. It’s awesome to see our students stepping up, showing leadership, and supporting opportunities for younger players to enjoy the game.

As a school, we are proud to see our rangatahi representing City College with pride, integrity, and service to the community. Ka mau te wehi, Jackson and Reihana! 👏
