Green Gloves Boxing Gym is dedicated to providing and promoting a gym that strives to instil good sportsmanship, fair play, physical conditioning, mental, spiritual and emotional health. We strive to pro

vide individuals, groups and the community with a supportive safe, friendly and healthy atmosphere to learn the art of boxing through boxing fitness or competition. Through this, focus and coordination will improve, self-confidence and self-motivation will increase. You can either train to become a competitive fighter or simply train like one. Green Gloves Boxing Gym promotes boxing training for all walks of life, men, women and children from the age of 4 years are all welcome.

🥊 Today, Lopeti “The Explorer” Aiolupotea heads to Samoa with Team New Zealand to compete in the 85kg Elite Cruiserweight division at the Oceania Championships, 7–12 September 2026. From the Queensland Golden Gloves to the Oceania stage, this is an incredible journey and a well earned opportunity. Proudly of Māori and Samoan descent, Lopeti carries the silver fern with pride while returning to his Samoan roots, embracing his culture and representing his family, gym and country.

“We stepped into the unknown, we learned, and we came back better.”

Green Gloves has officially wrapped up our first ever international trip to the Australian Golden Gloves in Queensland and what an experience it was!

The calibre was world class. We witnessed some of the finest boxers in the world step into the ring, giving us a glimpse of where we stand. A milestone for our club, and one we carry forward with pride and gratitude.

Our boys represented with heart, humility, and courage:

Harry “Houdini” Flowerdew competed twice, went hard, and walked away with lessons that will fuel his growth.

Lopeti “The Explorer” Aiolupotea left everything in the ring and earned silver. Onwards to Oceania in Samoa next week. God speed as you represent NZ in the motherland.

Louis “The Sidewinder” Coronno calm, composed, crowned the Elite Heavyweight, 2026 Queensland Golden Gloves Champion; and Officially Green Gloves First International Champion.

Everyone came away with the wins that mattered most, humble in victory, gracious in defeat. They’ve set the tone for what it means to represent Green Gloves at an international level.

A huge thank you to Boxing Australia, the R&Js, volunteers, and everyone behind the scenes who made this tournament run smoothly.
