Pre running activation!
Here’s my current pre run activation after I’ve done mobility! Start with some activation then into some plyos to get the tendons and joint ready for the miles! I just do one sent as don’t want to fatigue anything!

Kerikeri half! Running on my sons first birthday was very significant for me! A year on from having him being able to line up and run with an ambitious goal was very special!
So happy to crack the sub 90! Was tough out there but very proud to have achieved that and have my biggest fan waiting at the finish was even more special!
Excited for next years goals feel so motivated to see what we can do! Thanks to and for the training and support!! ❤️

Braved the 90 km winds to run the Hutt 10km! Was pretty tough conditions but pleased with my race coming in 2nd women and taking my buddy to collect my prize with me! Hopefully one year he’ll be running with me! Exactly 2 months until kerikeri half but this was good character building! Yes I wanted to stop many times 😂

Track Wednesdays!
and had me on 7X1km this morning! Off 1 min recovery, tough but such a stunning morning at the track! Sun was out and no wind! Also baby sleeping better so definitely had more energy!
Some days you feel amazing and others feel a straggle and that’s life! So many factors play a role in how we feel when we train, I’ve had an annoying hamstring for last few days which definitely affected my stride but like I was told when do runners ever feel 100% pain free???

Very late posting but the beginning of the week was rough for running! The best thing about it was my waterproof jacket got tested! The jacket is amazing!! Highly recommend I got it from and it’s it’s totally waterproof but breathable and allows movement!
Anyway run got done I got wet but the end of the week was great!! 😊

12 weeks Saturday until Kerikeri half, skiing over now time to focus on this goal! It will also be my son’s first birthday! So double reason to run a PB!! 😉.
This will be my first half postpartum and have decided to post the journey of getting to the start line with a 8 month old!
I find seeing other mums be honest about the struggles and how they juggle everything is very motivating so if I could help one other mum to get up and workout then that would be awesome!
I am also going to link and tag products that I find really work! No gimmicks just good products that make running and life easier!
Now disclaimer I’m terrible with social media and definitely don’t have time for editing and creating pretty videos so everything I post will be raw footage. I will show the nutrition the strength training the recovery and some of the training (won’t bore everyone with posting every run)!

Exercising whilst on holiday, should we shouldn’t we…?
This is something I get asked a lot, can I have a plan for while I’m away and then a lot of the time it’s not done. Here’s my thoughts and factors that may influence your choices whilst away;
-Length of time your away for
-Training for an event
-Climate and schedule while your away
-Child care

So many factors can limit you whilst being away and I personally think try and decide before you go if you want to exercise or not, this way it removes any guilt if you don’t get any in!
If you’re walking thousands of steps every day you probably won’t have the energy to exercise. Also if your only away for a week and have nothing specific to train for a break can do your body the world of good!
If you do want to like I did this trip then make use of the new environment and get out for runs, hikes or body weight training it’s a great way to explore the area!

2 weeks of wholesome family time, and managed to get some cheeky runs in! I love an active holiday and it’s been a perfect mix of skiing and time just me and my son! We’ve done a lot of firsts and he’s had an awesome time. Swings, feeding ducks and being in the snow! I don’t want the years to go fast but I can’t wait for him to put on his first pair of skis 🎿

Round the bays 2025!
I never expected to be writing a post about a race 3 months post baby! So I’m delighted to have run round the bays today! It’s been a journey to get back to strength post c section with hours in the gym regaining core strength, but am so grateful to be where I am! Still a way to go but heading in the right direction! Running has always been something I love but coming home to my sweet sweet boys face is an even better felling! Can’t wait until he can run with me !
