Our OBU Ball Runners were working hard on the sidelines at the OBU Prems vs Upper Hutt on Saturday and were lucky to meet Calel Aramboles, recently selected for the Deaf Black Sevens Squad heading to the World Deaf Rugby Sevens Championship in Japan later this year.

A proud moment for our club and an inspiring one for our young players. Congratulations, Calel — we’ll be cheering you on all the way!

What a night at Ian Galloway Park! 🏉

A massive thank you to the Hurricanes for coming along as part of Canes in Clubs and spending time with our Year 7 and Year 8 teams.

The players worked through defence, forward play and back play, picking up great tips and having a lot of fun along the way.

We’re grateful for the Hurricanes’ support of our young players and the wider junior rugby community.

💚💛 Round 3 starts Friday!

Good luck to all our OBU Junior Rugby teams for another big weekend of footy.

3 of our teams will be playing at home, the Y5 Dragons, and Y5 Seawolves at 10am followed by the Year 8 Roosters taking on Norths Red at 11:15am Saturday morning at the cage in their home opener.

Check out the draw, get along if you can, and back our teams all weekend long.

Tonight at Onepoto Park, the ngā kōtiro from OBU Juniors played their first of 4 games in an “all girls” competition for a combined Wellington City Team, Elsa, Sam & Āria-Rose. The team went up against Para-Plim and given it was the first time they had played together, tries were plentiful with solid defense. Looking forward to seeing what they can do - with game 2 at Fraser Park in two weeks time.

We are looking for more girls who want to get involved. whether you're new to rugby or been playing for years, we would love to have you join in.

On May 9th, our OBU Y2 Tigers 🐅 took on the mighty Johnsonville Cobras 🐍.
Both teams had some epic tries and quick rips, a great game to watch.
Special shout out to Leo for his runaway try and well deserved player of the day 🏆 and Lenny who received the player of the day award from the Cobras.

Happy Mother’s Day to the amazing rugby mums in our club 💐🏉

The ones driving to the game, standing on the sideline in the rain, cheering the loudest, wiping away tears, cutting up the oranges, washing muddy clothes, feeding hungry kids, and somehow doing it all again the next weekend.

Thank you for every lift, every hug, every load of washing, every post-match snack, and every bit of love and support you give.

Our club is stronger because of you.

Amended draw to what we posted earlier this week, with the Colts now at Kelburn Park, and the Scallywags now at Ian Galloway Park.
