Waipu Touch kicks off this Thursday 15th October! 🙌

Our junior teams get things underway, with the first games starting at 4pm!

🟡 A friendly reminder to all players, coaches and supporters to please refresh yourselves on the rules and code of conduct before the season begins.

▪️▪️ JUNIOR SQUASH – TERM 4! ▪️▪️

We’re back on court for Term 4, starting Monday 12th October!

Our Squash Squad sessions will run at the following times:

🟡 Juniors (8–11 years)
2.45pm – 3.30pm

⚫ Intermediate Kids
3.45pm – 4.30pm

Please note: From this term, there will be a small fee for lessons to help keep our junior squash programme running.

PARENT HELP NEEDED!
We’ll be down a coach for approximately 5 weeks, so any parents who are able to lend a hand during this time would be hugely appreciated! ☺️

We’re looking forward to getting our Squash Squad back on court for another fun term of learning, improving and having a hit!

A special shout-out to three businesses who played a massive part in bringing our 150th Celebration Evening together!

▪️Luke & his crew at Country Catering – for the incredible food

▪️ Daniel & his team at Alpha Sounds – for the awesome sound and lighting

▪️ Dave Klum – for putting together all of our video montages and auction reels

So much work goes on behind the scenes to make a night like this happen, and these guys absolutely delivered!

The food, atmosphere, sound, lighting and videos all helped make the evening what it was, and we’re incredibly grateful to have had you all involved in such a special celebration for our club!!

🖤💛 A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU 💛🖤

We would like to say a huge thank you to Waipu Primary School’s Kapa Haka group, along with Jordan McDonald, Matt Abraham, our senior boys and Waipu’s Pipe Band, for providing such an incredible welcome to our 150th Waipu Rugby Celebration.

The combination of Kapa Haka and the pipes was amazing and such a special way to kick off our celebrations!!

A huge thank you to everyone involved for giving their time and helping make our 150th celebration one to remember.

The new season is just around the corner and we're looking forward to seeing everyone back out on the fields!

Whether you're a returning team, workplace team, school team, social team, or rounding up a group of mates, now's the time to get registered.

📅 Season A (Term 4, 2026): 15 October - 3 December
📅 Season B (Term 1, 2027): 26 January - 4 March

⏰ Please get your registrations in by Friday 2 October so we can sort grades, draws, and get everything organised for the season.

Something to keep long after the party ends… and the memories fade…

To mark 150 years of Waipu Rugby, we’ve put together a very special book — one and a half centuries of memories, stories, characters, photos and yarns, all brought together in one place.

Now, a small disclaimer… 😉

No claim is being made that this book is a true and accurate historical record. Names that deserve a mention may have been forgotten, dates and circumstances may have changed with the passage of time, and a few worthy yarns may not have made the final print.

So, in the spirit of a good rugby story…

150TH EVENING – LOST PROPERTY 💛🖤

We’re trying to track down a couple of items that have gone missing from our 150th Celebration Evening:

Plain dark navy dinner jacket with prescription glasses in the pocket - belonging to Paddy Gordon along with his 4 beers that went walking from his table 😂😂

We also have a Waipu Rugby blazer that we need to find the owner of.
