The hard work was front-loaded when the event first started. These days it’s more about growing what we’ve built, trying new ideas and getting involved as much - or as little - as suits you around event time.

Congratulations to everyone who participated in the Big Easy event yesterday. It was a great day!!
The results have been posted on the website (www.whitehorsebigeasy.co.nz/page/results/).

The Veterinary Centre Whitehorse Big Easy is a run it - walk it - bike it event. Based in Waimate, the Whitehorse tracks take in challenging hill climbs, great downhills and amazing views.

🚵‍♀️🏃‍♀️ We're (mostly) all set to proceed. Due to safety concerns, we've made the decision to cancel the 27km and 13km bike legs. However, the 7km bike leg and all running legs will take place as scheduled. Participants registered for the longer races are eligible for either a transfer or refund, and we'll finalize the logistics this week. We look forward to seeing you soon and appreciate your cooperation in spreading the word. 🏃‍♂️🚵‍♂️

Update on course conditions:

The weather is not playing the part for us this weekend but the plan is to press on. There are a few course changes being made to keep everyone safe.

The running events will continue as originally planned but will be slippery in places. Expect the 13km and 21km to take longer on the hill and be prepared to get wet.
5km is in reasonable condition with a better surface.

The MTB changes will mean shorter distances. 7km is looking good and not expecting that to change much.
15km is still reasonably similar but Expect tacky clay in places making riding more difficult.
The 27km is going to be most effected. Its likely the private land section wont be safe to ride and parts of the public land need to be avoided to save damaging the network.

Be aware that we might not be able to deliver what we had planned but are making every effort to have a fun and safe event for everyone.
If you would like to change to a shorter course, let us know at registrations and we can make arrangements for this.

Temuka motorcycles have been a big supporter of the Veterinary Center Whitehorse Big Easy for a number of years now.

Each event they supply a Polaris side x side so that we can get better access to the corse and competitors. Come and check out the current electric model. (Its very quiet).

We are stoked to have the continued support from them.

Tracks are marked out and we're looking forward to sending everyone off tomorrow morning.

🏃‍♂️🚵‍♂️ Get ready for tiny tots zooming around! The 1.5km kids race is a go for the 2026 Big Easy. Starting at 11am sharp, don't forget bikes, running shoes and an extra set of hands for the mini-me's (aka tag-a-long parents!!). Sunday 29th March 🚵‍♀️🏃‍♀️
