What a way to end the Just Another Fisherman Anglers Escape 2026.
Big thanks to for putting together another awesome comp, and also to everyone involved in supporting Gumboot Friday—mean cause to be part of.
This year, we might not have had the strongest crew but honestly… we had an unreal time. Good vibes, great people, and epic fishing the whole way through.
We caught a wide mix of fish, but that last day was something else. We were into the kingfish when we spotted some massive bust-ups. After landing few kingfish we saw it erupt again nearby in about 45m of water. Clinton fired out a topwater lure—couple of swipes—and then boom… a yellowfin exploded out of the water and smashed it.
After a solid 15-minute fight, we had the tuna close to the boat—but realised we forgot the gaff. Jumped on the radio and luckily George wasn’t far. He came over and saved us, passing one across.
Next thing you know… we had an epic yellowfin on the deck.
