Shout out to Naenae Football Club!⚽

While Remutaka FC worked towards becoming officially affiliated with Capital Football, our Senior Women’s team and three U10 teams were left looking for a temporary club to play under until our affiliation was confirmed.

In stepped Naenae FC!

They opened their doors to us and welcomed our teams with open arms. Not only did they provide us with a home for the season, they also kitted us out in brand-new, proper Premier League looking uniforms - and we quickly discovered they have some of the best football pitches and goals in the Hutt Valley!

To Naenae Football Club, we want to publicly say thank you for your support and collaboration throughout our 2026 season!

We look forward to continuing the relationship between our two clubs into the future. ❤💜

We are at the end of our first season, and we want to publicly acknowledge and thank all of our incredible coaches and volunteers.

Valuing our volunteers is one of our pou - one of the values that guides who we are as a club. We recently had the opportunity to acknowledge our coaches at our recent prizegivings, but we also wanted to take another opportunity to recognise and thank all of the coaches and volunteers who have given their time, energy and passion to help get Remutaka FC off to such a great start.

To every coach, manager, committee member, helper and volunteer who has contributed to our first season - Thank you!
Our journey has only just begun. Let's keep building Remutaka FC together.

At our recent Waerea ceremony, we sang Hutia Te Rito, a waiata that has come full circle for Remutaka Football Club.
First shared by our Co-Chair, Jane Lee, with our founding members at the beginning of our journey, it now holds even greater meaning as we prepare to make Awakairangi Park our home in 2027.
The harakeke is a metaphor for whānau and community. The rito, the central shoot, represents our tamariki, our future, while the surrounding leaves represent the protection, support and collective care needed for them to thrive.
Hutia te rito o te harakeke
Kei hea te kōmako e kō?
Pull out the shoot of the flax bush,
Where will the bellbird sing?
He aha te mea nui o te ao?
Māku e kī atu
He tāngata! He tāngata!
What is the greatest thing in this world?
I will say:
It is the people! The people!
Our people are the heart of our club. Our tamariki. Our whānau. Our community.

On Sunday 30 August, Remutaka Football Club held a Waerea ceremony at Awakairangi Park in Totara Park, Upper Hutt, a special blessing of what will be our home ground for 2027.

The Waerea was led by Matua Mike Wallace, a kaumātua at Ōrongomai Marae, Upper Hutt, and one of our Remutaka FC Executive Committee members. We were incredibly grateful to have Deputy Mayor Corey White, along with Councillors - Councillor Angela McLeod - Community Champion and Bill Hammond, also join us for this important occasion.
It was wonderful to have so many of our Remutaka whānau there too, including our women’s team, our current U10 players and their whānau, and our Remutaka Minis players and whānau. And massive ngā mihi nui to Johnny for the delicious fry bread!

For us, this space about connection, whānau, community and creating a place where our tamariki, rangatahi, wāhine and whānau can belong, grow and enjoy football together.

He waka eke noa, we’re all in this together.

Welcome, remutakafc

Remutaka FC has been endorsed to become Capital Football’s newest affiliated member club from 2027.

Following their initial expression of interest in late 2025 and a successful application process, Remutaka FC will be able to compete in Capital Football’s league and cup competitions, while accessing football development and club support programmes.

We look forward to welcoming Remutaka FC to Capital Football and seeing them compete in 2027.

We’re incredibly proud to share that Remutaka Football Club has officially been accepted as an affiliated club of Capital Football.
From an idea and a shared vision for something new in our community, to launching our very first season in 2026 — and now becoming an officially affiliated club — it’s been an incredible journey.
A huge thank you to every player, parent, coach, volunteer, supporter and member of our community who has backed Remutaka FC from the beginning. You’ve helped build this club, and this milestone belongs to all of us.
Affiliation opens an exciting new chapter for Remutaka FC, and we can’t wait to share more about what’s ahead for the 2027 season.

Yesterday we wrapped up our 16-week Mini's season, and what an amazing season it was!

Over the next couple of weeks, we’ll be taking the time to say a huge thank you to the many people who helped make Mini Kicks happen. But today, we want to start with our amazing sponsors!

Looking for a sport this summer that is fun, while helping your child develop skills and physical qualities they can take into any sport?

Whether your child dreams of becoming a sprinter, a thrower, a footballer, a rugby player, a netballer - athletics provides an awesome foundation.

Last weekend at Mini's, we were happy to welcome Upper Hutt Athletics Club along to promote their club and give our tamariki an opportunity to learn a little more about athletics.

If your child is keen to give it a go, get along to their upcoming “Have a Go” sessions at Trentham Memorial Park, on Wednesday 14 and 21 October and see if athletics is for them!

Looking for a summer sport to try out? Ngā mihi nui to Brent from the Demons Softball Club here in Upper Hutt for coming along to our recent Remutaka Minis session and putting on a fantastic softball demonstration! Our tamariki had an awesome time giving softball a go.

If your child enjoyed it (or wants to give softball a try), the Demons Softball Club is holding a Junior Open Day on Sunday 13 September, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Maoribank Park, Clouston Park Road, Upper Hutt.
