Rocket Racing

Rocket Racing "No cry babies" Rocket Racing was started by Scott Lane when he first started racing Modified out of Auckland's Waikaraka Park Speedway in 1990.

Since then he and his wife Lanie's two children Brad and Samantha have followed in his footsteps, both starting in the Ministock class then moving up to Modifieds. The team now participate in many forms of speedway from Dirt track go-karts to competitive Modified racing and anything in-between, while having a few beers and meeting some lifelong friends.

ROGER BERTRAM MEDALIST TOP - 10 (Before Easter cut off)

The last time we saw the Roger Bertram Medalist Top 10, this is how points chase was heading into the Easter cut off ๐Ÿ‘€

Already two- time Medalist winner Brad Lane is odds on favorite to retain the crown for third time, leaving it up to the chasing pack to zero in on his points haul ๐Ÿค”

It's a tussle for second place between class veteran Newton Gordge and Jason Kalin Motorsport who has certainly stamped himself as a top 10 contender all season long.

LSK Motorsport - Luke Keegan 34c has been the best of the Southerners, with the Canterbury, South Island & Invasion titles up his sleeve at Woodford Glen Speedway Association Inc.

Cody Hata from Kiwi Furniture Movers Motorsport Team has been quite the consistent campaigner too in the now acquired ex-Jamie Fox car, and as a result has picked up some good results along the way.

Division sponsor Pokeno Auto Centre along with its driver Brett Parsons Racing 69H Modified, Aiden Crawford, 47GM Modified - Reuben Brown and Kane Botherway from KBR have all earned their stripes as consistent peddlers in season 25/26 too.

As has Sam Keeling from Rocket Racing completing the top 10 rout with a strong showing in the second half of the season.

Be sure to join Booker, Kinser and I on the Trackside Show over at Kokpit Racing And Media next Tuesday night from 7:30pm, to find out who will be the Roger Bertram Medalist winner for season 25/26 ๐Ÿ

This year was one of pure talent, determination, & domination by the Huntly team both on & off the track. Every team faced their own testing moments throughout the season, but through it all, our class continued to grow stronger, welcoming 4 new drivers into the Huntly Modified family.

Early in the season, Brett Parsons (69H), Brad Lane (1NZ), & Barry โ€œBazzโ€ Hunter (53H) put on an incredible show at Meeanee Speedway, showcasing our class to a whole new fan base & representing Huntly with pride.

Then came the New Zealand Championships, where the momentum continued. Every Huntly car qualified for the all important feature final, an achievement in itself against the countryโ€™s best. Brad Lane (1NZ) went on to claim his 4th New Zealand Championship title, with Brett Parsons (69H) finishing 5th, Samantha Keeling (199H) 8th, & Barry Hunter (53H) unfortunately suffering a DNF while sitting 16th.

The success didnโ€™t stop there, with Brad Lane (1NZ) taking out the Waikato Champs & Scotty Redfern (96H) securing 3rd place. From there it was off to Waikaraka Speedway for the NZ GP, where 6 Huntly drivers proudly represented the class, & Brett Parsons (69H) drove brilliantly to finish 2nd overall.

Back on home soil for the North Island Championships, the drivers & track crew put in a massive effort to deliver an unforgettable event for both competitors & fans. Brad Lane (1NZ) stood on the top step once again with Samantha Keeling (199H) right beside him in 2nd, making history as the first siblings ever to podium together at a national title event.

The South Island tour was another highlight of the season, with Barry Hunter (53H) & Brad Lane (1NZ) representing Huntly to the highest standard in Greymouth, Dunedin & Christchurch. The pair put on an unforgettable show for fans across the country & continued to showcase exactly what Huntly modifieds are all about.

To finish off the season, we headed to the Auckland Champs, where Brad Lane (1NZ) once again proved why heโ€™s one of the best, taking another commanding victory.

A massive welcome & congratulations also goes to Adam Cobb (5H), Thomas โ€œTomoโ€ Zein (32H), Calvin Scharvi (84H), & Jess McKenna (491H), who joined the Modified ranks this season & absolutely brought the heat. Every one of these drivers showed huge progression throughout the year, & the future of our class is looking incredibly strong.

Matt Addis (411H) showed massive progression before unfortunately having to cut his season short. Keep an eye on him next season because heโ€™ll no doubt come back faster & stronger.

Adam Cobb (5H) battled issue after issue early in the season, but once the gremlins disappeared, his confidence grew every meeting & he quickly found himself right at the front of the pack.

And of course, Barry โ€œBazzโ€ Hunter (53H), the absolute legend of Huntly Mods. No matter the meeting, the travel, or the challenge, heโ€™ll do whatever it takes to support & showcase our class while giving everyone a run for their money along the way.

A huge thank you goes out to all drivers, crews, officials, sponsors, volunteers, & fans who supported the Modified class this season. None of this happens without you.

Now itโ€™s time for a well earned rest & reset before we come back next season bigger, faster, & ready to bring even more action & upsets to the track.

Make sure you head over & support all of our drivers by liking and following their pages!
