A Chocolate Fish event will be held on 7th June at the Porirua Judo Academy 10am-12 noon.
Please mark this in you calendar as a fun morning out with your local Judoka friends. Great training towards the Wellington International Open later in the month.
Make it a family event day in Porirua.
Let's see lots of you there with lots of giggles, smiles and there will be yummy chocolate fish to eat.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and want to assure you that all registration fees will be fully refunded within the next few days.

What an incredible day at the Wellington Judo Association Wellington Champs! 🥋🔥 It was inspiring to see our talented athletes showcase their skills, dedication, and hard work. A huge thank you to our amazing volunteers who kept everything running smoothly, our referees and scorekeepers for their dedication, and our mat stewards for ensuring safety and order. Your support makes these events possible!

🥋 2025 Wellington Judo Association Closed Championships — Event Update!

We’re working hard to make our contests smoother, faster, and more athlete-friendly. Our mission: weigh-in ➜ compete ➜ medal ceremony — all within 3 hours! We’re not there yet, but Wellington is leading the charge toward a better competition experience.

🔵 Junior Boys & Girls
• Early weigh-in window: 7:30am
• Official weigh-in: 8:00–8:30am
• Competition starts: 9:15am
• Medal ceremonies will take place after each division’s Opens are complete.
🙏 Help setting up the second mat is hugely appreciated!

🔵 Cadets, Junior Men & Women, Adults
• Weigh-in: 9:15–11:00am
• Competition begins: Right after the kids finish.

🏅 Awards & Breaks
• 12:00pm: Area Awards — celebrating excellence in Cadets, Junior Adults, and Senior Adults.
New this year: Greatest Growth, Kata, and Refereeing Awards
• 12:20pm: Lunch break
• 1:00pm: Competition resumes until all adult divisions are complete.
