My cars not starting so not able to get into Turangi sadly. Anyone able to go grab the key one of the parents and use the booking as long as the key gets returned to them. If not I'll need to get my car sorted so no trainings on til I figure it out. Sorry obviously completely unexpected. 🙏🏽

Gym was booked today so no trainings on til tomorrow. 4 pm - 5pm 5-8 y/o and I'll keep gym open from 5-7 if you wanna come get shots up or your kid is looking for something to do anyone is welcome as long as we are respectful and trying to play basketball. 🏀 Any questions my number on the page reach out. Hope everyone had a good holiday period. Let's open the gym back next week. Same days Tues, Wed, Fri, Sat. I will confirm next week but I believe there is about 2-3 weeks left until we finish up, so anyone wanting to come and have a bit of fun or have your kids learn some new skills and have a chance of success in basketball bring em in. The Dunbar Poets are considered by many to be the greatest high school basketball team of all time. The team finished the 1981-82 season with a 29-0 record and followed it up with a 31-0 record in 1982-83, earning a No. 1 national ranking by USA Today.

The team included:

• Muggsy Bogues: The shortest player in NBA history and the team’s MVP as a senior.

• Reggie Williams: The National High School Player of the Year who went on to play in the NBA.

• Reggie Lewis: A future NBA All-Star who came off the bench for Dunbar.

• David Wingate: Known for his defensive prowess in college and the NBA.

• Gary Graham (UNLV), Tim Dawson (Miami), Keith James (UNLV), Darryl Woods (Virginia Union), Jerry White

The team was coached by Bob Wade, a former NFL player and neighborhood native.

Their success provided a pathway out of poverty for many of the players, offering opportunities to earn college scholarships and even reach the NBA.

3 pm - 4 pm for 5-11 year olds today. Taumarunui is coming over again. Probably will be same time for young ones every Friday til the end of Nov when we wind down for the year. 🏀
