We're less than 3 weeks away! Still plenty of time to get your entries in!

Remember, there is climbing suitable for all levels! While nationals are about those pushing NZ selection, our regionals are a bit more laid back and are great way to get in to the climbing scene, or to have a bit of a laugh with friends!

Today is a sad day,

After days of consultation with the owners and staff at the Turangi Gym, we have decided to postpone the April 4th round of our regional series.

The decision was made with our community and public responsibly in mind. With many people traveling from around the north island we needed to get it out as early as we can, to allow you to change your plans if need be. We will advise everyone of changes to the dates when we can.

However, the competition is only 1 aspect of what our greater achievement would become. One of our aspects is route setting development, so, we are still looking into spending a few days down at the Turangi Gym and building some quality routes as part of our commitment to our community of climbers. The gym will still be open with requirements to health and safety to be followed.

Please remember, that given our current world situation, that most of our gyms are still in operation and that we can still support them by attending as we normally would. Also, remember that there are a few extra rules at each location and to support those requirements is to support our sport and businesses the long run.

Thanks
Dion

Good Morning,

As we begin to gear up for our next round in our CNI climbing series at Turangi Climbing Gym in just 17 days, we are watchful of the current events around NZ at the moment.

We have been discussing the options we have available to us and have a few solutions to hopefully help us through.

At the moment we are all go, we have chosen to split the day into two session's. The 1st session will run as follows but are subject to change,

Gym opens at 8:15 with briefing at 8:45, For U10, U12, U14, U16 and Open B competitors. ALL ON TOP ROPE.

Round 1 starts at 9am,
Round 2 at 10am
Round 3 at 11am
Finals at 12pm, for U10, U12, U14, U16 and Open B following the completion of Round 3. This will be followed by prize giving.

The second session will begin at 1:15-1:30. U18 and Open A on LEAD and Masters on TOP ROPE.
Round 1 starts at 1:30pm
Round 2 at 2:30pm
Round 3 at 3:30pm
Finals at 4:30 for U18, Open A and masters, Followed by prize giving at around 5:30pm.

The timetable is subject to change, but we would not be likely to change the format. We have split the day like this to help with reducing the associated risks we are all facing at the moment.

We have been working closely with the gym owners and currently, we are happy to go ahead. However the health and safety risks don't just apply to us, the climbers and parents, the risk is also with the owners, their staff and their businesses. We must respect their decision if they choose not to go ahead during the series and look to postpone or cancel their round.

We are also asking that if you are sick or unsure, please consider the others in our community, bugs and germs are not on our likable list at the moment

PLEASE remember that as much as we want this and the rest of our events to go ahead, we may have no choice but to postpone or cancel if we need to.

Take care, be safe

Thanks
Dion
