Westpac Rescue Helicopter's Annual Appeal is back. They asked my husband Chris and I to participate in their appeal to fundraise for their ongoing costs - and of course we 100% jumped on board, without that Chopper Chris wouldn't be here today after his Cardiac Arrest in 2015.

You will see a bit of us on TV advertising via the below full video, a shorter version, and a kitchen scene with photos of us and our family on a fridge.

Please consider a donation, no matter how small because its not just accidents where the rescue choppers make a difference in families ❀️

So not what is helpful.......
10 minutes from Waipukerau we got signalled to pull over. Tyre has exploded, first time ever. Taken the wheels cover off so changed tyre. Ripped the conduit off along side of caravan. When we parked up and turned the water on just now in Napier we have discovered that the waterline which runs in that arch behind the fridge has split so we can't use the water.
Made a call to insurance company, home Saturday to start the fixing process πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Went for a drive to the far end of Tokomaru Bay while we were camped at the Southern Freedom Camp. Imagine our surprise when we discovered that there used to be 3500 people living at Tokomaru Bay, that there was a huge freezing works and a big wool processing plant here - hence the wharf. The house pictured was built for the local Harbour Masters, now its a rental badly in need of love according to locals.
The works and wool processers both shut down after WW2 in the 1950s and you have to search through the trees to find the freezing works building that is now just a roofless shell.
Just shows how much "progress" and technology have changed the way of life in New Zealand.
Only around 300 people living there now, a sleepy wee spot on a beautiful beach.
