Pretty cool last week when we were down at Highlands we got to see my Great Grandad Ernie’s old Ford Anglia that my Great Uncle Gary used to race and also a lot of other famous people. It was awesome to see it on track and also up close in person! The car hasn’t been raced in over 50 years, so it’s awesome to see it back on track.

It was great to meet Jamie Goodlass and there family who now own the car, thanks for letting us come and see it and have a sit in the car!

It also would have been my Great Grandad Ernie’s 100th birthday today. I wish I got the chance to meet him. I hope he would be proud of me and Corban Sprague Motorsport with what we have been doing.

Mega final day at Highlands Motorsport park in SS Cup having 2 races today with this mornings one in very wet conditions, then a dry race this afternoon!

Race 3: P12-P4, 1st in class.
The race started off very wet with it raining pretty hard and the track being pretty wet. I got a great start and passed quite a few cars on the first lap. I then kept on pushing forward and really enjoyed the wet conditions and managed to finish 4th and 1st in class with the second fastest lap of the race.

Race 4: Reverse handicap: P13-P13, 6th in class.
I got a good start and passed a few cars on lap 1, then was having some good battles until unfortunately the safety car came out on lap 3 and the race didn’t resume unfortunately. So I finished 13th and 6th in class.

Massive thank you to Dad for all of your help this weekend, Corban Sprague Motorsport for going on the radio for me, and a big thank you to Andrew Brunton for your help over the weekend and giving me the chance to drive the car.

I really enjoyed racing the Toyota 86 this weekend and learnt heaps and was awesome to race it at Highlands!

Great day here at Highlands Motorsport Park having 2 races!

The day started off with race 1 which was a rolling start, then race 2 which was a reverse handicap by class. Both races were great fun and I had some awesome battles! I am enjoying driving this car around this awesome track and am learning more each time I get in the car!

Unfortunately on the last lap at the second last corner in race 1, 2nd gear blew. Massive thanks to the Scoles Family for lending us a gearbox and the use of there hoist to use, much appreciated! Huge thanks to Dad, Andrew Brunton and Corban for helping change the gearbox before race 2, it’s much appreciated!

Race 1: P16-P18, 10th in class.
It was a good race, unfortunately I lost a couple of positions on the front straight due to the other higher horsepower cars. But I had some awesome battles and some fun battles with Tim Leonard Motorsport. Then I managed to pass a few cars to finish 18th overall and 10th in class.

Race 2: Reverse handicap in class: P19-P15, 9th in class.
I got a good start, but unfortunately got passed by the higher horsepower cars heading down the front straight into the bus stop chicane at turn 1. From then I fought my way forward and managed to have some great battles and pass a few cars to finish 15th and 9th in class.

Awesome first day here at Highlands Motorsport Park for the final round of SS Cup!

We had 2 practice sessions and Qualifying today.
Practice 1: 15th,
The track was still a bit wet on track and I was on slicks, so was just building into it and learning.

Practice 2: 14th
The track was dry, which was really run and was good to get some dry running and get more comfortable in the car.

Qualifying: 17th, 9th in class
Qualifying went well getting a couple of solid laps and getting more comfortable in the car and learning heaps.

Overall it has been a very fun first day here. It is my first time driving this car and also my first time on a slick tyre which has been awesome to experience! I am learning heaps and can’t wait to get into racing tomorrow with the first race being a rolling start at 11.10 AM.

2025/2026 2K Cup South Island Champions!🏆

Mega final round of the 2K Cup South Island Championship. It was an awesome day having qualifying and 3 races on Saturday. Happy with how qualifying and the races went having good pace and being consistent. It was cool to win the final race of the day to win the championship!

Awesome day today to finish the weekend off on a high with a win in race 3 for round 5 of the 2K Cup South Island Championship!

Race 3: P5-P1
Got off to a good start and worked my way to the lead of the race. From then onwards I was trying to manage the race and the breakout rule while also defending from the car behind to come away with the race win.

Massive thank you to Johnny Small, Dad and Gareth Heywood for all of your help this weekend, it is much appreciated, and it has been a really enjoyable weekend!

Huge Congratulations to my brother Corban Sprague Motorsport on winning the Mazda Pro 8 New Zealand Championship, well deserved!

Another good day today here at Ruapuna for round 5 of the 2K Cup South Island Championship! Happy with how today went trying to be consistent and get some solid results.

Qualifying: P3

Race 1: P3-P4
Got off to a good start and was in P3 until lap 2 I slotted in behind 4th. From then it was about trying to manage the breakout rule and be consistent, and managed to finish 4th.

Race 2: Marble Draw: P21-P6
This was an awesome racing coming through the field. I had an awesome first couple of laps gaining heaps of positions, then worked my way up in to P4. Then just after I got into 4th on the sixth lap a red flag was called, then unfortunately the race didn’t resume. I hope the competitor that had a crash is ok.
so the overall race result went off of the position I was when I crossed the line the lap before, so I finished P6.

Looking forward to the reverse marble draw tomorrow morning where I will be starting 5th and the last race is going to be a reverse grid from race 1 today, which will be non championship.
