What an incredible day out at Glenmore yesterday for the South Canterbury Hunt 4WD Adventure at Lake Tekapo! 🚙⛰️

With 36 vehicles and around 110 people taking part, everyone enjoyed a fantastic 4WD experience across some truly spectacular high country. From heading up the Fork Stream with a few exciting river crossings, visiting Fork Hut, and returning for a delicious high country lunch, to the clouds clearing perfectly after lunch for a run over the hills with stunning views of Lake Tekapo and Lake Alexandrina — it really couldn’t have been better.

A massive thank you to the Otago Recreational 4WD Group for their expertise, support, and hard work throughout the day, and to Kennards Hire Dunedin for supplying toilets, gazebos, tables, and an air compressor for tyre inflation at the end of the trip — hugely appreciated.

It was an early start for our hunt helpers, so a very big thank you to camp mother/organiser Penny Medcalf, Cheryl Farrar, Amanda Buller, Don Loomes, Georgie Robson, Steph Kearney, Sarah Simpson, Ginny Sutton, Sophie Cartmer, Jess Thomson, Rosa Douglass, Anna Douglass, Grant Shrimpton, Celia Warren, Suzy Lou, Summer Wilton, Nikki Mee, and of course Will & Emily Murray for welcoming us onto their piece of paradise and making this event possible. Thank you also to our hunt members who contributed food and other support — it made a real difference in keeping costs down and maximising our fundraising efforts.

A huge team effort and a massive success all round. We’ve had excellent feedback already and are hopeful this will become a bi-annual fundraising event for the hunt. Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us — we couldn’t have done it without you! 👏
