🟢⚫ UNDER 18 PLAYERS SKILLS SESSION OPPORTUNITY 🟢⚫

Hockey South Canterbury are offering a 4 week skills sessions programme in March for any men or women players in the Under 18 Age Group.

These sessions are aimed at those wishing to get the dust off their sticks ready for the 2024 representative or club season.

Who can register: These sessions are for anyone in the U18 Age Group as below.

To register players must be under the age of 18 as of January 1 2024 and must also be 15 or over as of January 1 2024.

Tonight we kick off the NLH Booster programme for both the U15 and U18 Boys and Girls groups.

Congratulations to the 60 athletes selected across the four groups, and they will all train each Sunday for the next six weeks in the lead up to the 2022 season.

The programme looks to accelerate skill development, focusing on modern game techniques at a high intensity. We have a range of great coaches on hand along with a heap of great gear.

The U15 groups will be 5.00pm – 6.30pm, with the U18 groups being 6.45pm – 8.15pm. All athletes have been sent the relevant details, including what they must bring with them and what they must do to meet Covid-19 protection and prevention measures.

Hockey South Canterbury are excited to be offering our Next Level Hockey 'Booster' programme in 2022.

There will be two training groups based on year groups at school. Under 15 (Years 9 and 10) and Under 18 (Years 11, 12, and 13) or alternatively aged under 18 as of 1st January 2022, if not attending secondary school.

The programme for this age group runs for 6 consecutive Sundays, commencing on Sunday 20th February 2022. Session times for these groups will be as follows:

Under 15 Sundays 5.00pm - 6.30pm
Under 18 Sundays 6.45pm - 8.15pm.

It's a great opportunity to get back into the groove of hockey before the 2022 season starts!

The cost of the programme is $99.00 for 9 hours of coaching, equipment and turf hire for field players and $50.00 for goal keepers.

We have had 17 athletes taking part in the NLH Small Batch programme over summer. They have all been making some outstanding progress and will be looking forward to putting it into practice in the 2022 winter season.

Our small batch programme kicked off two weeks ago with 17 athletes forming the small training groups. They will continue on until the end of January with ten sessions each over the ten week period, focusing on advanced ball skills and techniques that should take their game to new heights in 2022.

BIG NEWS: Next Level Hockey presents NLH SMALL BATCH - A summer advanced training programme aimed at making big gains in a small group environment. With groups of five or less, and the ability to hand pick 10 training dates that suit you, this high performance programme is a huge opportunity for our athletes to lift their game over summer without the commitment of regular sessions each week.

The total cost is $199 which includes 15 hours of personalised coaching and includes video skill analysis where appropriate, and the purchase of new gear relevant to this level such as Kookaburra Elite balls. To be eligible to apply, athletes must be eligible for either the South Canterbury U18 or Senior sides in 2022. U18 players must have completed an NLH programme previously. Successful applicants will be split into sub-groups based on ability.

Attached are the programme dates for athletes information only when considering applying. The successful applicants will be asked to indicate their preferred training dates at a later date.

This training group is open to athletes who are in years 11, 12, and 13 or alternatively aged under 18 as of 1st January 2021, if not attending secondary school.
The six week block will run every Sunday starting on Sunday 14th February from 6.30pm-8.30pm.
