CX Supervisor Renate - recently caught up with Byron Vaetoe to get the rundown on our valued user group, The Shot Doctors and their love for the game 🏀

“I’m the old guy of the group, playing at 60 years old and loving it,” says Byron.

“Breaking down the fundamentals and principles of the game, with a mix of cultures, backgrounds and ages - allows us to improve.”

The crew have met on a Tuesday at Mercury Baypark Arena for the past three years, squeezing in their love for the game around busy schedules.

When asked about their favourite thing about Baypark, Byron simply replies, “The customer service and staff. They have been there for us since day one.” 💛

Drop the kids off and get some last minute shopping done or stay and learn our secret sauce and go home with the knowledge to keep your young player improving!! 10 spots remaining in this months session.

Taylor’s been working on the consistency of his shot and regularly hits 10 in a row now.
We are able to work on other parts of his game because he is a legitimate threat if left open with the ball in his hand.
This causes the defender to close out on him and fall for his fakes.
The 3 most important things when you’re shooting is Form Form Form.

Taylor is 12 years old and has been doing individual sessions to work on different parts of his game.
We predominantly work on shooting but since he’s got that down packed (often hitting 10 in a row from the free throw line) we’ve move on to offensive moves including and array of post moves to use on defenders inside.

When a player in a group starts ‘getting it’ we single him out as an example that someone their age can do it. We tell the others they need to start listening and applying what we’re teaching.
