Huge thanks to Te Waka Kura o Mohua! 🤸✨

Did you know how lucky we are to have such an amazing community supporting our club? Alongside Tākaka Primary School, Te Waka Kura o Mohua has been incredibly generous in lending us a whole lot of gymnastics gear.

This support makes a world of difference for our gymnasts and helps us keep the momentum going. We are so grateful for your kindness and for helping our tamariki stay active!

🤸‍♀️ Big Dreams for Our Gymnasts! 🤸‍♀️

Kia ora whānau,

As many of you know, we currently rely on borrowed gear and set up/pack down for every session. Our big goal is to eventually invest in our own new, high-spec equipment to give our tamariki the best experience possible!

To get there, we need a little extra mahi behind the scenes. We are looking for help with:

💻 Website: Someone to help us get a simple site online.

📋 Funding/Grants: Anyone with experience in grant writing or finding sponsorships.

🧁 Fundraising: We need a lead for our upcoming Bake Sale, plus any other fresh ideas you have!

What amazing first classes we had yesterday. We did it! Mohua Movement Academy has taken off! It was so cool to see all the eager young gymnasts! Thanks to all the parents who supported us, wether by helping with set up, pack down or positive and constructive feedback.

A huge thank you to all our volunteer coaches. Didn't they go great for their first class! They were buzzing and exhausted afterwards :) Thank you Jenna, Rosie, Emma, Ani, Ngaire, Star and Holy.

And behind the scene, another huge thank you to our committee members who helped make this happen.

We wanted to share a huge thank you to Tākaka Primary School for their support in getting our gymnastics club up and running.
From letting us use the school as our base to sharing their equipment, their generosity has been essential in getting us off the ground.

We are so excited to announce that our first classes start on 20th April! We can't wait to see everyone there.

A big shout out to Trash Palace for their generous donation supporting Mohua Movement Academy as we get started.

Trash Palace does amazing work in our community — providing affordable, preloved goods and supporting local groups in such a humble and meaningful way. Their impact reaches far and wide, and we feel very lucky to have their support.

🤸‍♀️We’re OPEN for enrolments!🤸‍♀️

We’re so excited to finally share that enrolments for gymnastics classes at Mohua Movement Academy are now live!

This has been a real community effort, and we can’t wait to get started supporting our local tamariki to move, grow, and build confidence in a fun and safe environment.

A few important things to know:

We’re starting small, so spaces are limited and expected to fill quickly
Places will be first in, first served
Our classes are proudly run by volunteers
